General Comments
A handheld is very difficult to use and operate... especially in a noisy environment as in some or most GA aircraft. This makes it easy and really usable in the event of an emergency.
It does what it is supposed to do. I haven't used it but a few times, but in those times it did the job expected.
Cons
It would be nice to have the cables secured better. One piece of heat shrink is not enough. Also, it would be nice to have a strain relief on the radio to take pressure off the jacks on the the cable and radio. One jack is very tight and the other is just tight. At first I thought there was something wrong or I had the wrong size. It feels cheaply made. I would only recommend this because I can't find it anywhere else...and I have looked.
General Comments
I hated that I had to wait so long because this item wasn't in stock. And then the delivery date was further extended!!!! Being out of stock during the summer flying season shouldn't happen. Having to wait 6 weeks shouldn't happen either.

The phone plug is too small in diameter for the jack in the SP-400, so sometimes the audio in the headphones drops out if the plug is pressed sideways. An older version of this adapter has the correct plug diameter and works flawlessly.
General Comments
This adapter should have a third jack for a PTT switch. Charging (a lot!) extra for a PTT switch is unacceptable, when the parts are available at Radio Shack for only a few dollars. However, this is my only complaint with the radio and accessories. Everything else is excellent.

I exchanged the plug three times. I finally had to remove the PJ068 plug and replace it with one I ordered from another aircraft supply company. The female PJ068 plug that came with Sportys cable would not attach firmly to my Bose X10 headset. I could not find an adapter cord from anyother source.

I had to order a replacement because the headset adapter was damaged by the plug on the Telex MRB 600. Instead of clipping in, the plug pushed the center contact inward. I have no problem with my other headsets.
General Comments
Nice to have when the electrical system fails and the pilot must use a backup HT. (Happened to me on a night flight.) I use wire ties to hold my adapters to my headset cord so I do not have to dig for them in my flight bag.

Works fine. Easier to communicate than trying to hear it's speaker in the aircraft.
Cons
1st one I got was defective. Loud squeal and connectors did not snap tight. Sporty's replaced immediately.

It's a cable. What's there to say.. plug it in, it works. But this is the perfect example of "aviation is so expensive" --- and needlessly so in this case. We're talking about a $2 headphone adapter from The Shack.. then the "odd" sized mic plug.. maybe $10, or $15 if you want to push it.. but $26? -- someones looking to retire early.
Works as described. It is new to me so I can't say that it is durable or reliable but it looks fine, and it works to do what it is advertised to do... so I'm happy.
