Product description: If you haven't flown with Serengetis, you owe it to yourself to do so. They’re the most scientifically advanced sunglasses in the world and simply outstanding on land, sea and in the air. The famous Drivers lens slashes glare, enhances contrast and reduces eye fatigue. These advanced lenses filter “blue” light to reduce blurring and minimize the effects of haze and glare and far exceed ANSI sunglass standards by blocking 100% of UVB and 99% of UVA rays. Titanium Velocity A popular driving style that is also perfect for the cockpit, the Velocity features a modern titanium frame. The Drivers Gradient Lens provides a crystal-clear view in all conditions.  They allow only 9% light transmittance on the top of the glasses and up to 24% on the bottom.  The molecules in the lens adjust when the light does.  Your eyes don't have to make the adjustments because the sunglasses do that for you (reducing eyestrain).  This technology is inherent in the glass and will never fade or wear off (Photochromic Technology).

    Pros

The titanium frames have a solid feeling without being bulky. They place just enough pressure on the temples to feel secure but dont squeeze or feel uncomfortable. Very comfortable for long-term wear (I put nearly 40 hours in them over the holiday weekend!). The lenses dont transition perceptibly, but will react to changing light conditions. I wore them all through attending a baseball game over the weekend, and the sun went from high in the sky to sunset and there was no change in my ability to view the game comfortably.

    Cons

The lenses themselves are much more round than they appear in the catalog image, but not in a bad way. They are not narrow at all and on a smallish face they might look oversized. The lenses are glass and demand great care (either that, or I'm nervous about breaking them and so I'm babying them too much)

The box I received looks like it had fallen behind the shelves and been forgotten about for several months. It was banged, scuffed, dusty, dirty and if I saw it on a store shelf, I would have walked right past it. There was a cut/dimple in the hard-sided case from some kind of mishandling, but the glasses themselves were undamaged. Given the huge cost of shipping, I would have expected more. This isnt a criticism of the glasses themselves, but rather of this particular shopping experience.

    General Comments

Overall, an excellent pair of sunglasses. Modern without being excessive, but conservative without being stodgy. Comfortable and effective in changing light conditions. A good value if you are in the market for high-end non-prescription sunglasses.

    Pros

Looks nice, constructed well, comfortable when wearing

    Cons

Lenses are too light for my taste. The sun still bothers me when I am wearing them.
Go for darker blue/green lense if your eyes are sensitive.

I bought these for my husband as a gift. He loves them! He is getting his private pilot license and said they are easy to wear and see out of while in flight!

    Pros

Superb glasses for flying! The tint is so light that I sometimes forget to take them off when walking indoors. The frames are thin and my LightSpeed headset fits over them perfectly.

    Cons

A tad pricey, but worth it.

    General Comments

I had never bought sunglasses through the mail before, but I figured I'd take a risk and return them if they didn't fit right. These glasses are probably a best fit for pilots with big heads, wait that's all of us, I mean if you've got a small face you'll probably want to try the smaller type. They turned out to be a perfect fit for me, and what a great product. I must have tried on dozens of glasses at Sunglass Hut and never found a pair as good for flying as these.
