Not even worth the shipping fees

It was easy to use but then again it was also missing a bunch.

The instrument training program left out so much material it was hardly worth the shipping fees which by the way was free. When I contacted Sporty's about it I received absolutely no responses. Now that that it's been a year, I'm stuck with with an expenditure in my training budget that I will not recover in knowledge or funds.

Severely disappointed in Sporty's who has been the main source of my aviation training and flight tools. I'll most likely look at other sourness in the future before Sporty's.

It is nice being able to access this from almost any computer with the internet. The videos make thing quite helpful as well even though they seem to be dated. The testing is helpful

As with most other software, or study books, the images that are to be referenced when taking the exam are of poor quality. I would have thought these images would be more easily read, but they are very low quality images. Some of the videos are quite old, but you still get the idea. For $200 I think a much better product could have been produced.

I chose the online version because I thought my iPhone was too small to use the app. I am somewhat glad I did that after seeing some of the 'Refer to image' questions. I believe for the most part that this is a good product and will help me in my instrument training. Just know that you are not getting anything better looking images than the red book..

Being online, this is always available wherever I am.

May have to buffer a little while on slower connections. I'd also like to see a place you can go to ask questions when your instructor isn't available.

It's great being able to access and work on my Instrument rating anytime I've got a spare moment or two. A better approach than hauling around 3

All courses should offer an on-line delivery method - much more convenient than dragging heavy books with me everywhere (I just use my little iPad).

I really didn't like it

they show you how to use the new technology in weather, navigation and weather services.

very very boring and isn't structured well at least for the written exam. when i took the practice test not much was in the videos so i had to study the answers to every practice test from scratch.

The pace is very slow and boaring. some technical aspects are not explained well. As for the FAA written exam, nothing in the lecture segments have prepared me in any way for the questions. You start guessing, taking wild stabs.

i completed the whole sportys course and had to study the answers to the prep questions so i could understand. i only scored 80% on my instrument written test while i scored 98% when i took my private test using the kings ready for takeoff course.

I exchanged the online course for the DVD course after using the
online course for 3 or 4 hours. To me, books and DVD are faster
and simpler. But then I'm 54 years old and grew up doing all my
learning with books.

The course is outstanding and I am looking forward to finishing it. After the instrument rating I am going to start my instructor rating. I hope sporty's has a course for me to use that is as good as the instrument course is. The Cd's are great and full of information and I am sure pleased with all the information. This makes it much easier to learn than doing it without the instruction. My instructor follows the book and we are both in the same place all the time. Thanks for such a good course.

The practice tests allowed for multiple practices

The explanation of wrong answers in practice were not always clear. The videos go very fast if trying to learn the information requiring lots of pausing rewinding and watching multiple times. If only purchasing the videos there is no material to aid in study other than videos.

Overall i was dissapointed and would not purchase another course from Sporty's

The videos and the practice tests were excellent. Allowed me to pass my written with a 93.

The practical standards portion is a bit cumbersome and I am not sure it is all that helpful

Easy to use, easy flow to the lectures;

No test questions or interactive portion after each section. I am forced to buy my own test book, and try to correlate their questions within certain chapters with your topics going forward.

So far so good, but I am only getting started. Ask me again in a few months!

The video content is very informative and pleasant to watch. The graphics and animations are great tools for a visual learner like myself.

I have not had any trouble with availability of the system - I have been able to use it every time I wanted to.

After watching the first set of videos, I started to taking notes in a composition book. I have filled half of that book with notes from watching the videos. A lot of the stats and facts on the videos are rattled off quickly - it would be helpful if there was a document that had all of the memorization and study materials documented for each of the video segments.

I found the little section for keeping notes on the screen while watching the video is pretty useless since I needed to draw lots of diagrams in my notes.

I think it's a good system. I would have expected the online version to cost less than the DVD version. I chose the DVD version only because I wanted to be able to use it from my computer at the office as well as my computer at home, but since the DVD version and the online version are the same price, it was not an easy decision to make.

I'm not sure how long I get to use the online version. If I had bought the DVD version I could use it indefinitely. It's like renting something without knowing exactly how long you get to keep it, and renting for the exact same price as buying.
