This is the renowned ACCU-GAGE tire gauge, custom silk-screened with the AOPA logo. We’ve used this commercial-grade gauge for over ten years on our aircraft and company vehicles. Features the reliably accurate, friction-free bourdon tube—long-preferred by scientific laboratories as a dependable means of measuring pressure. The 12 in. flexible extension hose facilitates easy readings and a special bleeder valve allows you to release excess air from the tire while monitoring air pressure. Constructed of heavy gauge steel and encased in a shock-absorbing rubber cover. This 60 lb. gauge is calibrated in easy-to-read, 1 lb. graduations. Seems the ideal gauge design, from the simple but accurate mechanism to the instantly marked and retained value to the one-click release (also used to slip air to reduce tire pressure). Also found that the valve sleeve is very fine; had no air seepage at all at first; it has happened a bit since but far better than any other gauge I've used. ConsNone. There may be a 'perfect' unit out there somewhere. Until I discover it, I believe this is the finest I have had the pleasure to use. Knocked one point off for 'Reliability' as it can seep air now and then - but I don't know of a unit that doesn't, and considerably more compared with this. General CommentsA very fine tool. Not Dollar Store material, but not expensive when you consider that nothing beats the right tool for the job. Bought two more for my two sons who are both in the Navy. |
