Which in turn blocks out a lot of noise. And when you are flying a helicopter, the less noise you hear is better. My original still worked it just had broken at the seam between the two halves. It is four years and 300 hours of use old. Hard/difficult to install. It feels as if one is going to tear in when putting it on. I had someone hold the headset while I worked on. Maybe I was trying to be too gentle.
