My older Zulu heaset mic picks up noise when in proximity to the copilot's window. Apparently not a problem with the new Zulu. Carrying case is much better than the old one. ConsThe only negative concern I have is the plastic headset plug. A more robust plug would have been better. General CommentsIn a small cockpit the coiled cord is much easier to manage than the straight cord. |

ConsOn March 21, 2009 I purchased a Lightspeed Zulu headset with lemo plug and coiled cord from Sporty's. On Satruday April 4th was the first day I could try using it in my Cirrus. The left ear audio is effectively out; I could only hear very slight broken sound if volume at max and right ear removed. Something was not right. I tried the #1 DIP switch setting both ways;Off (stereo) and On (Mono) without any effect. I also could not get get the Bluetooth to pair up after several tries. I had the Zulu in pairing mode and my Blackberry recognizes the device (Zulu_bc) but it would not pair when I enter 0000; "Unable to pair" is the message. I have never had a problem pairing with anything else Bluetooth. The cell phone cord provided fit, but it too did not work when I made a call. Just very frustrated and disappointed. After talking with Sporty's support, it was decided to return the headset for a replacement. General CommentsVery disappointed with the first defective headset. I'm hopeful that the replacement set will work as purported. |
