    Pros

well constructed and roomy. main compartment can easily hold a pair of headsets, a POH, and a bunch of sectionals or similar sized item (if desired). water bottle holder, keychain carabeener are nice touch. cellphone pocket holds an iphone pretty snug. handheld radio pocket can also double up as a sunglass case holder. std size kneeboard (ie sportys vfr kb) fits nicely into larger front pocket. overall very intelligently designed (except for minor complaint see below)

    Cons

if bag were just a tad longer (1"?) , a fullsize plotter would fit inside main compartment without having to bend it.

Made to last. Nice pockets for accessories.

    Cons

Was much smaller than expected. The lack of a headset bag really made the large pocket too small for approach plates.

    General Comments

Good bag but I returned it and held on to my original flight gear bag. I was looking to find something a bit smaller but this was a bit too small.

    Pros

GREAT size for the starting pilot. Lots of pockets for the essentials.

    Cons

The eventuality of needing a larger bag.

    General Comments

I gave my husband this for his birthday. THE PERFECT GIFT... especially being an unexpected one. This is perfectly sized as he is in the beginning stages of obtaining his pilot's license. No doubt he will find things to fill it with as he progresses. HE LOVES IT.. and so do I.

    Pros

    Good quality. Good layout.

    Cons

I wish it was available in all black.

    General Comments

Very good high quality bag. Layout is good with lots of small slots and pockets for various items. This bag has allowed me to downsize from an older, larger bag and keep all of the necessary equipment I usually carry. Everything fits inside, minus my knee board, which I carry on top between the handles.
The removeable internal divider allows me to change the bag for different requirements, whether flying alone IFR with charts or taking along an extra headset and intercom for a sight seeing passenger. The antenna storage sleeve inside the radio pocket is also a nice touch.

    Pros

The bag is of a nice quality.

    Cons

From the descriptions online, I thought the bag would be a good size. When I opened the box and saw how big it was I became a little dissapointed. Luckily all of my things fit without the exception of approach plates.

    General Comments

If you like to have a little extra room for a few personal things I would upgrade to the classic.

    Pros

Durable, good-looking, good features (water bottle net, change pocket, compact)

    Cons

Can't figure out how to set up the internal dividers so that my folding lapdesk will fit inside. Kinda disappointed by that so far.

    Pros

Well constructed with a heavy material. Looks like it will endure quite a bit of abuse. The dividers are excellent and are well padded if you want to carry your headset in the bag. I have my David Clark headset, Military spec knee-board, instrument oral exam guide, School SOP, and my Flight guide for VFR on the inside. The side compartment holds my log book, medical and license. On the other side I carry my approach plates and enroute charts. I also have enough room to carry a flashlight, writing pens, and Foggles (In the water bottle holder).

    Cons

The bag could be about a half of an inch taller. This would allow a little more room for the knee-board as the zipper flap is a bit distressed by it. This would also allow for the storage of sectional or en-route charts on the inside without the top having to be bent over to fit.

    Pros

Perfect for short VFR flights or for the student/instructor flights to the practice area. It will hold a headset, charts (sort of), cell phone, GPS, small kneeboard, radio, and some misc. things that you just can't fit into a plain headset bag without being too big. It comes with two removable dividers to keep things organized.

    Cons

To really be an IFR bag it needs to be taller to hold approach plates, charts, etc.

    Pros

A place for almost everything. The pocket next to the radio pocket is too small for a hand held GPS so I put my spare glasses in it. Despitea a reported 12" demension, the center compartment length is too small for a full sized 11" clipboard, but it will handle a knee board and the FAR/AIM and POH for a 172 easily. I ended up buying the original flight gear bag which holds everything plus some but it is quite big - a full sized clipboard will fit in it.

    Cons

Need an additional handheld GPS pocket. The waterbottle pocket is a bit too big for a 20oz bottle.

    General Comments

Top quality product, just hard to buy this kind of thing online without actually seeing it in hand.

    Pros

    Excellent constructions
    Great use of space

    Cons

Too small for a student or weekend rental flyer. You can fit a POH, a small 3 ring binder and a headset on the inside (all laying ontop of eachother). On the outside you can hold A single sectional, logbook, radio, and e6b. Really not much room for anything else

    General Comments

I tried both the VFR and IFR bag. I Would highly recommend The IFR bag to airplane owners who dont have much to tote around. For Students (like myself) and weekend rental pilots the VFR bag is perfect..any bigger and it's to big to throw around and carry for a day trip, any smaller and you cant fit any incidentals you might want to carry.

    Pros

This bag is a good size, not too big and not too small. Its exterior pockets hold plenty of flight gear and it has adequate room for two headsets plus more in the center compartment. It is to be made of durable, heavy duty nylon material with thick padding to protect delicate units like your GPS, etc. and the zippers appear to be of good construction. Carry handles wrap around to support the weight and are comfortable in your hand.

    Cons

It could use more individual pockets and more room to store charts, but then, what gear bag couldn't.

    General Comments

Overall an excellent value for the money. The only other bag that seems to out do it (according to it's advertisements) is the Brightline Pilot Flight Bag, but at half the price I think the Sporty's IFR bag is the better value.

    Pros

Perfect size, with LOTS of pockets! I struggled between a choice of either a bag that fits EVERYTHING or one that fits stuff I need on 95% of my flights. This bag was a good compromise. The pockets maximize storage efficiency; I carry with me my sectionals, AF/D, a headset, Garmin 496, kneepad, check lists, fuel strainer, pens, handheld radio, logbook, flashlights, back up batteries, E6B CX-2 calc, cell phone, and I still have an empty compartment in the main storage area (1/3). I've seen the larger bags Sporty's offers and they're BIG!

    Cons

The main compartment aren't high enough to store sectionals vertically
