    Very Impressive
    Pros

Very sophisticated. Works well with Xplane on my Mac.

    Cons

Takes some serious setup to have all functions work with Xplane. There is no documentation to tell you how to do this. Works on Macs but accompanying software will not work on Macs.

Yoke and Throttle Quadrant wil NOT clamp to many tables and desks. It requires a deep overhang.

    General Comments

    Very impressive user experience.

    Pros

Good product. Still learning how to use the program set everything, controls, conditions, lots of fun.

    Cons

The rudder pedals are the only negative on this set. They do not stay put on the floor or carpet. Just a little hard to fly when you can not control the yaw of the aircraft.

    General Comments

This would have gotten an overall 5 stars except for the rudder pedals issue. I would suggest this product to others.

Good bit of kit; $259 was fair price
    Pros

Great feel of reality. Of course I am a new student pilot so my knowledge is quite limited at this point.

    Cons

    None noted yet.

    General Comments

Quite satisfied and felt $259 was fair for a new kit... I'm using my system with Flight Gear, a free simulator for Mac, and Microsoft. I say this because you'll need to do a bit of research/OJT to ID what all the Saitek buttons actually control with flight gear application on a Mac. If you're using a Microsoft system, it would decrease learning curve by buying a Microsoft flight simulator, and the Saitek guide IDs how the buttons interact.

Very Helpful for Private Cert Training
    Pros

Better mimics a Cessna flight yoke than a joystick. Very useful as a Student Pilot going for Private Cert.
Lots of fingertip buttons (though many of the buttons aren't on a real C172 or C150).
Simple USB attachments. Practically plug & play setup once software installed.

    Cons

It is a bulky setup to keep mounted on a desk, need to take it down after use each time (don't have a dedicated computer & table). Rudder pedals would be nicer if metal - afraid plastic pedals will break when using shoes.

    General Comments

There's a BIG difference of flying with the Rudder Pedals and yoke vs. just a joystick. When the simulator removes Auto Rudder, it's more of a true simulator when Reality Mode is set to Real. As a student pilot, I've needed practice with this and it's helping significantly without the costs of getting in the air. Slight tweaks needed in the C172 after getting comfortable with the basics of rudder/yoke/level flight and turns. Actual cost of the product totals about 2 lessons (rudder & yoke system together). ROI so far is equivalent of more than cost of 12 lessons. To early to know how long/durable it will last.

    Pros

I have only had the units for about three weeks so reliability and durability are somewhat TBD but I am overall pleased and glad I purchased. I am engaged in my IFR training and invaluable to 'fly' my next lesson before I get in the airplane. I use MS-Flight simm X and for the life of me don't know why not FAA simm time approved. So very 'real'. The yoke, throttle quad and rudder pedals bring flight simm more to life. For example, use slight rudder corrections on final versus as you really would versus aileron. Yoke and rudder pedals seem sturdy for good life.

    Cons

Throttle quad, while functional and def better than keyboard, lacks a bit of 'real' feel. Could be a bit more resistance on throttle, prop and mixture controls. Still waaay better than keyboard. Takes awhile to get desired sensitivity settings but then very good after set. Make sure you SAVE your settings.

    General Comments

Would buy again for my purposes. Even after IFR rated I will spend considerable time practicing in the luxury of my den to keep sharp, and, eight hour rule does not apply! :)

    Good product
    Pros

Very realistic and much better than a joystick, mouse, or keyboard. Plenty of buttons and easily programmable. Easy to set-up and use. Little more than plug it in, fire-up MS Flight Sim, and take-off.

    Cons

The rudder pedals are a little too responsive on the ground, not very realistic response, but seem just fine in the air.

    General Comments

Good deal and a lot of fun. I had a flight lesson the next morning after getting everything and I made the flight in Flight Sim before the real lesson. It helped a lot the next morning in the real flight. Good tool for student pilots.

    Good, but not perfect
    Pros

Fairly easy setup, worked will with FSX, not as thrilled with X-Plane.

    Cons

Throttle quadrant prop control and mixture control not programable/useable in FSX, though ironically they seem to work fine in X-plane.

    General Comments

Seems to be a good well built product. Has already increased my enjoyment of using both Sim products, FSX and X-plane.

Finding the right surface or table to attach it to took a little thought, its is much bigger than I expected (which is a good thing) and the work surface I originaly planned to set it up would not work due to the way it attaches to the surface, but once I figured it out everything was great!

    Pros

The perfect combination for Flight Sim X/2004. Flying was smooth and easy and no endless hours of tweaking like the old Xbox 360 controller I was previously using. Buttons were easily programmable in Flight Sim. Installation was a breeze.

    Cons

Pedals need slight tweeking. If you press down on them, you can't engage the breaks or the left/right break. You also have to set the default controls to the yoke, for some reason, mine defaulted to the pedals.

    General Comments

This is the product I've wanted to use since I started flying on Flight Simulator back in 1993. The package deal is compeditavely priced, and the installation takes about 2 minutes after putting the power/prop/mixture together. If you fly for a Virtual Airline or are just want an easier way to fly in Flight Sim without hours of programming and tweeking a control stick, this is for you.

    Pros

The yoke and pedals, particularly left/right braking are far more a flight experience than my old joystick. If you are really into a realistic experience then this is a must have, plus you can add to the basic bundle to create your own high end simulator.

Set up is very easy, just plug it in, set the appropriate axis in FSX and you are ready to fly. The brakes need to be reversed so that they are not always on but that's the hardest part.*

*(see cons for my probably unique and unpleasant experience with the throttle.)

    Cons

The throttle quadrant worked for about fifteen minutes, then became unstable )low to high to low RPM), then quit completely. I'm running Windows 7, so I uninstalled the yoke and got the newest driver from the Saitek website, this left my throttle stuck at minimum unless I used the keyboard commands. An hour on hold with tech support and they suggested I run a .cpl file outside of normal setup/install. This unlocked my quadrant from the middle setting and gave me my control switches. The tech support guy gave me his email should I have more issues, which I did a week later when the quadrant quit again. Emails to tech support to get that .cpl file name went unanswered for over a week, guess it's back to the phone. I'm considering getting another quadrant that runs on USB instead of the Ps2 connection on the bundled quadrant. My suspicion is issues with the hardware, not software.

    General Comments

Don't let my bad throttle quadrant experience turn you off. You probably will get a fully functional yoke/pedal set that engages your entire body in simulated flight, not just your wrist. The Saitek product is of generally high quality with a solid feel, not just all cheap plastic.
