I use it both on windshields and on the top of aluminum control panels. The suction cup clamps down for maximum grip and is still easy to remove with the tab on the suction cup. The arm can be mounted anywhere and in any position at any angle and the structure is surprisingly rigid. Well worth the money. ConsI have heard that people that have left the suction cup attached to their windshield for an extended period of time have a black ring where the suction cup fused with the plexiglass in the hot sun. ConsThis might be better in a car than an airplane. Problem: Once you get about 10,000+ ft. up, this thing falls right out of the window. Works on a suction cup, so you can imagine...lower air pressure, less suction...oops. I fly a turbo-charged aircraft regularly well above 10,000 ft., so I've found it to be almost worthless to me. General CommentsStay below 10,000 feet and its *great*. As long as you understand the limitation. |
