only problem i have is that the screen can be annoying sometimes because it seems to me to not be as sensitive, but after a wile, you get use to it

great devise, worth the money. it is a must have for any pilot who is going long distances, tired of using paper charts, flying in complicated airspace, or for those times a little situational awareness would be a real life-saver! so much information is available at your finger tips, it's amazing! Pricey, yes, and i do wish you got weather, or at least safe taxi, but for whats on the market, it's well worth the investment!

Easy For Balloon Pilots

For balloon pilots, screen is easy to see, and works when wearing gloves.
Great airspace depiction and database.

Cons

I have a difficult time figuring out how to secure it in the basket. The yoke mount provided is useless to us as it requires a 12V plug in-we are remote always. I use the auto mount and sit it on a fuel cylinder-not ideal.
As previously reported, the battery life is limited to 2 or 3 balloon flights max.

General Comments

If you already use Garmin, you will have no trouble using this right from the box.
Balloon pilots need to buy the AC adapter for charging, sold separately.

Battery will not last long....buy the hard mount kit so it runs off the battery of the plane. I was learning how to use it in my car and around the house and it was dead in about 3 hours....and it sucks that you have to pull the cover off the back to charge it! I would still buy it, but the charging thing is a issue and the battery life is not great.

Excellent design. It does what my Garmin 296 does for a better price. Intuitive. Excellent HSI panel feature is a plus. Starts up and receives GPS signals better that the Garmin 296. Price is reasonable. Bought it as a backup for my 296, but may switch roles.

Buy the AC/DC power adapter. Too bad it wasn't included with the purchase of the unit. Battery life could be better.

Some querks with the location of the body power/computer connection port (behind battery cover) - not the most convienient, but workable since it is would not be used real time that way.
