Died after one day of use, no charger included

Easy to setup

Died after one day, really disappointed Garmin would put a product like this out. Also pretty irritating that they decide to cut costs by not including a wall charger. They only give you a 12v cigarette lighter charger, so unless you buy a Garmin charger separately you're or you charge it in your car, you're out of luck.

The GLO can use any USB port to charge.

I have not used the product long enough to rate durability or reliability, but I don't anticipate any problems in either area.

Convenient size, easy to use, versatile.

No battery status indicator, and the power is too easily turned on unintentionally with the sensitive button.

The add-on I was looking for to increase the utility of my non-gps iPad.

Works as expected

Works pretty slick and the holder sticks to the dash very well.

I have opened my bag and found the power button inadvertently on. This could run the battery down, but it does have a cigarette lighter charging cord to plug into the plane.

When I first charged it, I got an indicating light that there was a faulty battery, but it still charged and worked.

Loading cable too short

Locks on fast and very good accuracy.

Does not want to charge from the computer. No app to view the status of the signals or battery charge.

Growing Pains with Garmin

Excellent refresh rate. Small portable size.

Very difficult to set up. Not exactly plug and play.

After three calls to Garmin Aviation Support after two unsuccessful flights, I finally figured out the problem myself.

The unit is tiny. Like many others have said, it's very easy to turn on by accident in your flight bag.

On first use with Garmin's Pilot app and a WiFi only iPad (4th Gen.), the location bug shows as a residual effect of the WiFi, not the Garmin GLO device. The navigation info never populates and eventually, although still paired with the iPad, the bug disappears and the iPad is basically dumb.

The GLO is so new that Garmin Aviation Support is still collecting information from pilots on the use of the device and how it interacts with different devices and apps. They don't seem to know how to answer many troubleshooting concerns yet.

I was able to fix the problem myself by power cycling my iPad after being told to force close the app, power cycle the GLO, reset my location services in the settings for my iPad.

Now that I seem to have fixed the problem, the unit works great!

It's like having an oversized GNS 530 without the radio feature! Small price to pay for an amazing aviation tool!

GLO with IPAD Mini/Garmin Pilot

Small, rubber mat gadget holds it well. Doesn't slide around. Simple to use. Immediately couples to Ipad Mini.

The blue flashy light reflects on the windshield, kind of annoying but not a deal breaker. Also kind of a pain to keep charged (wires up above the panel or take it home with you) but that would not be any different with any other portable GPS receiver.

I am using this with a 32gb Ipad Mini and Garmin Pilot in my Comanche. I didn't want to pay the big $$ for the 4G Ipad so I got WIFI only MINI since I knew I was going to get the GPS receiver anyways. the ADS-B receiver would be nice but I am going to wait until they come down in price a bit.

Very accurate, very fast update rate, works great with my iPad, Bluetooth connects super fast!

Does not stay off when charging! Once plugged on power it turns on, stays on, Bluetooth searches for device and GPS for satellites! Makes no sense to waste energy while charging in a room!

tested in flight in the USA flawless - can't wait to use it in Europe...

Slick little device

Long battery life, nice sleeve for the glareshield, agreed very nicely with the Garmin 430W in the airplane I fly. Once you get around the connection issues I note in my General Comments, it's very easy to connect every time.

Very little support for Android devices. See General Comments.

Garmin and the rest of the web are not much help in getting the GLO unit to connect to an Android device. The secret is in the settings.

- Pair the GLO with your device.
- Download and install Bluetooth GPS from Google Play (free app)
- Once in Bluetooth GPS, go to Settings, and turn on Use Insecure Connection
- Go back to main screen in Bluetooth GPS, touch Connect next to the GLO device name, and you're live.

This works consistently from flight to flight.

Really simple to operate with a long battery life. No cords to mess with. The Aviation version also comes with an aux power cable (plugs into any standard car/aircraft aux power port), and an anti-skid dash mount that makes things really easy.

Even better, it's not really finicky about placement, as I can even pick up an accurate signal indoors.

As others have mentioned, the on/off button can be easily hit while it sits in a bag. That's about the only quasi-negative thing I could say about it, and it's easy to address by placing it in another pocket in your flight bag.

All around great product. Simple to use. Connects easily. No complaints.

Works Great in Challenger 604

very simple to set up with the iPad - instantly displayed present position - which had been previously blocked from showing in ForeFlight - presumably due to the heated windshields in the Challenger 604 - which are on continuously during flight.

did not come with A/C power adapter......there are no 'cigarette lighter' outlets in our Challenger - ugh

awesome little device - have not yet tried the Garmin App

GLO glows

It is easy to use and does not get lost like the bad elf. It is as easy to use as the Dual . I lke it for use in my balloonfor I toss the holder on top of a propane take and go. It stays where I place it.

Garmin gave a number for the spere battery but still have not found it on line.
