Dual 2.1 USB Cigarette Lighter Charger
Suction Cup Mount for Stratus 2 (no cradle)

This suction cup makes it easy to mount Stratus out of the way on a side window. This location enhances the GPS and ADS-B reception of Stratus, and reduces the chance of overheating. Ideal for jets and other airplanes with heated windshields, or for airplanes that frequently park outside. External power and ADS-B cables can still be used in the mount.

Suction cup attaches to Stratus cradle with included screws (mount requires the cradle that is included with Stratus).

External ADS-B Antenna for Stratus Receiver

Improve ADS-B reception with this suction-cup mounted antenna. The Stratus™ relies on ground based ADS-B transmitters for data. If you intend to mount the Stratus in a location that obstructs its view of ground based towers, simply plug this antenna into the back of the unit and mount to a window. Includes a 5 ft cable, antenna and 2 suction cups for mounting. This antenna is for ADS-B only. It does not replace or supplement the GPS antenna in the Stratus.

    Stratus - Second Generation Case

Protect your investment with this custom-molded case for the second generation Stratus ADS-B receiver. Features a rigid exterior to protect it from impact and a full length zipper. Interior mesh pocket keeps charging cables organized. Great for storing Stratus – Second Generation in your larger flight bag.

Dual USB Home Charger for iPad

This 110V plug provides two powered USB ports. Use your existing cables to charge most USB devices, including iPad, iPad mini, iPod, iPhone, Blackberry, cellular phones and more.

    Input: 100-240 Volts AC

External GPS Antenna for Stratus (second generation)

This antenna plugs into the side of Stratus 2. Allows you to mount Stratus 2 out of the way in your airplane yet still see the sky for GPS reception. Magnet keeps antenna from sliding around. Not compatible with Stratus 1. Measures 10 ft. long.

USB to Micro USB Charging Cable (6 ft.)

This charging cable was specifically designed for the Stratus ADS-B receiver. Made to the highest specifications, this cable is much thicker than standard phone cables, and features a ferrite bead to reduce/remove interference. Measures 6 ft. long. Works with both first and second generation Stratus.

External ADS-B Antenna with 10 ft. Cable for Stratus

Accessory for Stratus ADS-B weather receiver. Includes antenna, suction cups, and 10' cable. Works with Stratus 1 and 2.

Stratus 2nd Generation Replacement Dash Mount
110V USB Power Plug (for Stratus)

Replacement plug provides 2.1 amps for charging Stratus. This is the same plug that is included in the package when purchasing a Stratus.

Suction Cups for ADS-B Antenna for Stratus

Accessory for Stratus ADS-B weather receiver. Includes two suction cups.

    ADS-B Antenna for Stratus

Accessory for Stratus ADS-B weather receiver. Cable sold separately.

5 ft. Replacement ADS-B cable for Stratus

Accessory for Stratus ADS-B weather receiver. Measures 5’ long.

10 ft. Replacement ADS-B cable for Stratus

Accessory for Stratus ADS-B weather receiver. Measure 10′ long.

Unit is supplied in black cradle. The unit on glare shield will overheat very rapidly. Therefore the purchase of the remote GPS and ADS-B antenna is almost mandatory in a low wing aircraft.
Displays a lot of 978 UAT traffic. Does not display all 1090 traffic as our TCAS 7.1 Showed aircraft that we saw go over head at 1000 feet and did not show up on stratus. I do have a problem with this.

    General Comments

I would recommend this as a enhancement for safety. However, for Jet aircraft I would not relay on this for your traffic information but for Weather it is a great deal.

    Amazing product
    Pros

Link this with Foreflight and the situational awareness and flight safety improve significantly reducing work load. Just remember to look up.

    Cons

People will want to borrow it.
You need to find somewhere away from the magnetic compass so it is not affected. Also remember not to cover any avionics air vents that may be on top of the dash.

    Pros

This receiver makes the ForeFlight app come alive. It is excellent in the air as well on the ground. Works as advertised. The battery life is great. I had a long day with many stops, and the batter did only run out. From 0900 until 1900 . I did get the low battery light however it did not quit.

    Cons

For long days I recommend an Anker portable battery to charge both the IPad and the receiver.

    General Comments

Excellent and with the wifi I can connect multiple devices to the receiver.

    Great Product !
    Pros

This product worked exactly as represented. Two IPads easily connected and maintained their connections with no problems. At about 300 feet AGL, I began picking up the ADS-B towers and had 3 to 5 towers at all times....at only 3000 feet MSL. The data flowed in as specified and I did see traffic when in range of another aircraft transmitting ADS-B out. Instantly I formed the opinion that this was a keeper and I would not want to fly without it !

    Cons

A bit pricey but it does do a lot with no problems. I only wish the FAA would turn on the ADS-B transmitters full time rather than when an ADS-B aircraft wakes them up.

    General Comments

I did use the suction cup mount on the side window. I highly recommend this and the protective case when purchasing.

This is a sirriusly greater product without all of the bad service I suffered through. Beside, now I can respond 'we have citation 123rk on tcas, acquiring the visual.' This product is great

One of the best safety tool a pilot can have
    Pros

Great situational awareness and Wx, right on your iPad and its getting better by the day.
    - Small form factor
    - Good battery life
    - Automatic firmware updates from ForeFlight app.
    - Tons of features working seamlessly with ForeFlight.

    Cons

Heavy price tag would be the only factor that stopped for over a year before purchasing this device.

    General Comments

Imagine a complete electrical power loss in your shiny G1000 cockpit, hard IMC trying to fiddle with your flashlights and backup avionics and you get the picture. Even though this may never get certified, its a great backup tool for every pilot.

    A Valuable Tool
    Pros

Small and mostly does what it says it will do.

    Cons

More difficult to mount than I expected.

    General Comments

I've only used this on two flights and expect my opionons will change as I get more experience. I sat it on the glareshield, but its white case produced unacceptable relfection on the canopy. I got weather and at least some traffic almost immediately after takeoff in the mountains near Reno, NV. I need to work on the AHRS display on my iPad; it showed the nose well above the horizon in level flight. I can probably fine tune that. I also need to find a better place to mount it. Regarding the mounting, it comes with a plastic cradle and a soft silicone-like pad. The plastic cradle doesn't fit well in the silicone pad and slides out of the pad too easily.

Makes and amazing cockpit resources available
    Pros

In combination with Foreflight this unit gives you amazing capability. The Ipad in conjunction with Stratus and Foreflight add new dimensions to the cockpit.

    Cons

Heat sensitive, you need to shield it from the sun. It must sit on top of the panel and is subject to overheating. Needs a shield or more air circulation. It also needs a 'tracking number' sort of like a phone or Ipad - mine was stolen or lost, I had to buy a 2nd unit.

    General Comments

Almost 40 years of flying and 5000 hours makes me realize just how terrific the threesome of Stratus, Foreflight, and Ipad really performs. Once you take the time to read the directions and capabilities of the three units in conjunction with each other you can be an expert.

The instructions that come in the box don't tell you enough, they should tell you how to link it all together and not to attempt to use it without some instruction or practice. Who reads directions ? But if you intend to use it as a primary resource, learn how to use it first.

    Wonderful cockpit aid
    Pros

    Easy set up and use

    Cons

Rubber base needs more substance to retain the unit in place in the base.

    General Comments

I am a ferry pilot flying all over the world and bought this as a backup to radar and hoped it would provide some traffic, etc. since Foreflight didn't work well with my other GPS device.

It turned out to be much more effective than I anticipated and the newly offered ADHRS and the traffic alerts really added a lot to the value.

It is pricey, but worth it when one considers the added safety and ease of use. The ADS-B radar only works in the US airspace, but traffic is covered everywhere and is a good backup.

    Pros

Very easy to use and set up. Provides good traffic information including 1090 traffic on our Caribbean trip. (My aircraft is equipped with an 'ES' ponder)

    Cons

Some more work is required on the ForeFlite display of traffic. The symbology is sometimes a little difficult to see unless the map is very expanded. Better 'vectors' with warnings would also be very useful.

Our one-year guarantee has not changed since we introduced our first product in 1962. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, let us know—we will make it right. If you would like a refund or exchange, please return the product on a timely basis in the same condition in which it was received.

    Price Guarantee

Sporty’s guarantees competitive pricing on everything we sell. If you find a competitor offering an identical item at a lower advertised price, just mail or fax us the ad, and Sporty’s will match that price.

    Standard Express Shipping

We offer the fastest shipping in the business, so you won’t have to wait for your important charts or a last-minute gift. Since we stock almost everything we sell, we offer same day shipping: in-stock orders placed by 5pm Eastern (weekdays), will be shipped that same day, often within minutes of ordering.

Plus, all orders arrive in just 2 business days with standard shipping.

Overnight shipping is also available on most items.

    Return Policy

For over 50 years, in addition to same day shipping, Sporty’s has offered same day returns and same day exchanges. Each day, we process all returns and exchanges before new orders go out. We know of no other company who does this!

A timely basis would allow enough time for you to try the product once or twice. We feel 30 days allows ample time to do this. After 30 days, we will continue to support the product for a full year, but refunds and exchanges are not accepted.
