Mount allows for good posittioning of GPS on the glarshield.
Solid construction does not move during turbulence

very small clearance for mounting hardware. large screws but a narrow opening for the area where the mounting will fit to the glareshield.
Needs to be a little bit larger for any aircraft with a thicker glareshield.

Solid, simple mount. Compact. Cradle for GPS is better than Garmin's. Very flexible.

Comes with loose metal strip to distribute pressure of thumbscrews on softer material (easy to lose track of and difficult to keep in position unless it's adhered to a surface...not practical for rental airplanes). Underslung GPS tends to pull mount off of glareshield edge. Screws long enough to interfere with adjustment knob unless trimmed (as RAM recommends). Screws compress soft glareshield edges. Sometimes difficult to find a good place to secure it that does not block something on the panel that shouldn't be obscured.

Good concept for a mount; execution could be better. Some glareshields really aren't substantial enough for this to work as well as it could. Would be improved with a bit larger jaw and a permanently affixed movable plate instead of a loose metal strip. Should put screws on opposite side of mount arm to eliminate interference with adjustment knob.

The glare shield mount that was pictured and described in the catalog was not the one sent to me. The catalog showed A "C" clamp mount and I recieved one that would only fit a one inch thick glare shield. I had to order A "C" clamp from Ram at A cost of $29.00 to make it fit my glare shield.

Nice "click-in" fit to the Garmin receiver - solid mounting in any position from the articulating joint.

Does not fit my padded glareshield (PA-32) and no other place to install - not sure about strength of the two "mounting screws" or having them screwed into the glareshield directly. Loose "plate" included to provide surface for the mounting screws to buck against not feasible for aircraft use.

Product is actually designed for glass or a windshield frame - it did not fit on my particular glareshield, and I couldn't really tell that from the description before I purchased it.
