Cons6 feet of cable sounds like enough, but it's not enough to put the antenna on the side window of the rear compartment of my Honda Pilot SUV and then use the handheld radio from the front seat. Had to put the antenna on the back seat window, sort of in the way. The antenna quality is the same as the hand held. I've been looking for a high gain antenna for the hand held but can't locate one.
