I was on a cross country and looked down to find a blank screen. Long story short, the adapter shorted. Inside the unit, there is just a thin piece of plastic separating (+) and (-). That plastic broke (from just normal use, I am sure) and shorted the adapter. Did not hurt the gps, but blew the plane fuse (& several of my auto fuses trying to figure out what was wrong). The short happens at the power end, so nothing happens to the fuse in the adapter. |
