Date - 3-25-2010 Pilot Rating - Instrument OverallDurability Reliability Value Usability Expected Recommended Yes | I believe that the mount is well made and is an excellant value compared to the other mounts available for the Baron or Bonanza. It is easy to change around. ConsI have a 1973 Baron with dual control wheels. The mount will not fit the yoke on top as it hits the boss that holds the gust lock. Also the v is too small for the Baron control shaft. If mounted on the main shaft the control will not go all the way forward, If mounted on the main part of the shaft (closest to the cross bar) the 696 is too far toward the pilot and too high. I then took the rubber supplied put it under the mount (not on top as shown) and under the clamp and mounted it under the control , reverse the mount that comes with the 696 on the back of the 696 so the ball faces down and the mount works great. General Comments The mount mounted under the control worked fine and the rubber under the clamp and mount holds it tight. The v needs to be more open to accommodate the large shaft on the Baron. However, mounting it the way I did the 696 is in perfect position. |
