    Pros

Provides a stable platform for writing, charts, and organization.

    Cons

My first concern was if it's going to interfere with the flight controls. That was enough for me to return it with a "test drive". The second thing I was not happy with was the overall weight. It felt heavy prior to loading any maps, charts, or other items into it.

    Pros

Really works well for IFR organization. The unit really does a nice job organizing, holding and displaying approach plates while seperating an area to view the flight log. In todays modern cockpit, it is becoming more common to print out your own approach plates for each flight. This unit has the right holding device and area to store all of the necessary plates for a flight and keep them organized. I also like the way it provides a seperate note pad area and the built in pencil sharpener is a great touch. I was skeptical at first but it is the best flight organizer I have ever owned by far.

    Cons

It is expensive but I think it is worth it.

    Pros

    Organization, writing space.

    Cons

It is a little on the thick side. I simply lower the seat so that it does not interfere with the yoke. Visibility is still good and I'm only 5'6".

    General Comments

I have always wanted a knee board with an additional writing surface and good organization for charts, approach plates, etc. I stayed away from the lap desks since they did not have a strap to secure them in flight. This knee board is great.

Lightweight yet solid. Metal, no cheap plastic. Quality piece of equipment.

    Cons

A bit thick because of the contoured foam leg padding but not unreasonable.

    Pros

Keeps everything you need for IFR flight handy and well organized.
Comes with two pencils with velcro and additional velcro for your own pencil, and places to stick all three.
Can be configured either with just the single.

    Cons

A little bulky when closed. I am short, so I am forward and like to sit high, and you need to have all the way up your thigh so it doesn't interfere with yoke

    General Comments

This kneeboard is a little expensive, but if you want to have all your charts and checklists handy, this works great.
Be sure to buy additional chart holders that can be easily ripped out without having to open the rings. (Quick Release Chart Protectors)

I am training for my instrument rating and this kneeboard is just what I needed.

    Pros

Solid, opens like a desk rather and does not flop down like the canvas ones. The left binders and clips are great. Used it on an ifr training flight and it helped me stay much more organized. The form fit to the leg is great, and it did not feel too tight to wear over my first 3 hour flight.

    Cons

Built in pencil sharpener will drop shavings right on your leg so that is not much of a deal. I think it is a little pricey but since it is metal and will last that will probably turn out to be cheaper in the long run. If you fly a plane with a stick when opened it might get in the way but that is not an issue for me.

    General Comments

It is a good size with good features.

    Pros

Able to hold pretty much anything needed for a VFR/IFR flight. Metal case is solid enough to use as a nice writing board. The flexible strap, plastic buckle and foam padding helps keep the board where it belongs. 7 ring binder for later needed files and charts. 2 clipboard sections. Not too heavy. Built in pencil sharpener and 1 free #2 pencil.

    Cons

A bit large. Maybe I'm sitting too close to the yoke in the Skyhawks I'm flying in, but when at full extension, the board interferes with control movements. Price... oooh man... $80 for this? Yea it is a sturdy product, but I wouldn't charge this much for it, maybe like $60. If it came with more than one (maybe like 5 of em) 7 ring plastic pouches, and a small built in light, then it would be worth it. Elastic straps for the stuff you want to put in are too weak/flimsy for larger, individual objects, like a full size E6-B or an AFD.

    General Comments

So far, I've only used this item 2 times, but mainly because I only really feel I need to use in on cross country trips or check rides. It is expensive and a bit large, but for a very sturdy writing platform with lots of places to store stuff(I can put a folded sectional, full size E6-B, an AFD, X-country planning sheets, a couple pencils w/a built in sharpener, and maybe even some approach plates later on), this is one great product. I would recommend this over any soft panel knee board, just make sure you put it to good use.

    Pros

This kneeboard is great for flight planning. It can hold several items including checklists, charts, and the Sporty's E6B computer.

    Cons

A little bulky for pattern work and can sometimes get in the way of pulling back on the elevator. Once at cruise, it's great to hold everything you need for your trip and you don't have to worry about dropping things on the floor.
