The aluminum itself is pretty sturdy. ConsThe strap tends to break and fall off. The foam pads on the bottom start to come off, but they don't seem to really be needed.. General CommentsAt one point during a long cross country I ended up taping the sectional to my leg, which seemed to stay attached better than the chartboard did. I haven't had any problems with the clips, just the leg strap so far. If this chartboard was constructed more like the classic aluminum VFR chartboard Sporty's sells, it would be a much better product. (The aluminum VFR chartboard has a thicker velcro strap that works really well) |

After the foam wears off the back and the plastic covers fall off the clips, a decent kneeboard will still remain. ConsCheap foam padding is glued to underside, don't expect that to last very long. Strap hook is very small and rudimentary, seems better suited to lingerie than an aviation product. Plastic covers on the clips fall off easily, have excellent potential to be FOD.
