The S-40, at only 12.4 oz., is one of the lightest, high efficiency headsets available. Quality construction includes high impact ABS plastic earcups and chrome-plated, hardened spring steel hardware. Self-adjusting earcups with soft polyurethane cushions will stay soft and pliable for years. An adjustable headband provides comfort to users with differing head sizes and shapes. M-90 (M-80 on S-40H) amplified electret microphone includes windscreen and is noise-canceling. The fully articulating S-40 mic boom assembly may be rotated 180° for use on the right or left side. Highly efficient receivers provide a NRR of 24dB and feature a single volume control. The S-40 has a three-year warranty. Made in the USA.

This is a great entry level headset. Noise deadening is good and the headset speakers are clear. I am very happy with them.

Cons

Mic boom is a little awkward but nothing that you can't get used to.

I am in my sixties (64) and can only wish that the volume could be just a tweak louder,but it may be due to the aircraft type that I have built. I like the headset and speak highly of it.

Inexpensive and they'll make do for a student.

They don't block outside noise very well. And, when you talk it sounds like your talking through a hummazu!wtf?

General Comments

I'm just a student, and have only used them a few times so far. But, I have used an assortment of loners and didn't have these problems with any of them. But, I'll keep making adjusments. Maybe I'll get them right. But the old saying usually holds true, "You get what you pay for."
