Product description:
Almost all pilots struggle with communications at some time, but these cards can take the fear out of talking on the radio. Script-style layout lets you write out exactly what to say for both departure (front side of card) and arrival (back side) before getting into the airplane. Then, once flying, simply read your prepared script—for ground, tower, approach control and more. Includes room for copying clearances, taxiing instructions and more. Sized for kneeboards, and available in VFR or IFR format. Pad of 50.

Quite helpful especially when learning!
Pros
As a student pilot, it's really nice to have a reminder to work through the clearance, ground, tower, departure and approach comms. There are spots to record each of the radio frequencies needed. After using this a few times I'm finding I only need to fill out parts of each section -- but it's still a really nice reminder, especially if you're flying more than one aircraft and need to remember to use the right tail number!
Cons
The ATIS/AWOS section is up high enough that it's covered by the clip on your knee board. Not a huge problem, but you do have to remember to slide it down before writing.

While not exactly how I communicate things, this is to be expected. It's a good place to keep notes and information. Plus the freq organization is good to have during planning for your flights.

Keeps you organized
Pros
These forms really help to get you organized for your IFR flight. They aid you by providing all phases of flight in a logical order. Great for new IFR pilots.
Cons
Often your IFR route is changed as soon as you are airborne. There is little room to copy new instructions. Be prepared with a standby note tablet to copy reroute changes.

My instructor was quite impressed; the first time we flew into a towered airport I knew exactly what to say!

General Comments
Great for students or pilots not comfortable talking to ATC. If you frequently fly into a towered airport, one pad should be just enough to get you acquainted with the order and the lingo.

Pros
Really helps familiarize yourself with the format and information needed for radio communications. Fill-in-the-blank format makes it easy to use.
Cons
Outgrew them quickly.
General Comments
Good help for students. Didn't need them after becoming comfortable on the radio. Might be a helpful review to pilots who don't talk on the radio much.
