Pros This product is easy to use and as described. It does eliminate the ashes from the bottom of your fireplace and places the onto this tray. Goes together easy with just two screws.
It still is better than trying to clean the ashes from the bottom of the fireplace with a broom and pan.
The tray should have one side that adjusts so that it remains flat and you can just tip it over in your gargage pale and the ashes will come out easier and cleaner. You have to make the ashes go over the border and this still creates dust and a bit of a mess.
Cons The product has about a two inch border around the tray. This means you still have to empty the tray either into a garbage pale or some kind of container and the ashes can still fly around a bit. It would be better to line the try with heavy duty aluminum foil so you can lift it out of the tray and contain the ashes in order to throw away without much mess.
General Comments If you have the type of fireplace like I do that has a metal ring on either side in order to hold the grate in place - you must remove the grate from the metal rings - otherwise, it does not fit as good as it should.
This product should be tried for the price. It can still be perfected by making one of the borders either on the right or left hand side of the tray which can pull out straight so you can empty the ashes more efficiently and neatly.
