Not what I thought it would be.

Easy to use. Seems pretty comprehensive in scope.

Dated interface. Product is buggy: a 'script error' message window frequently pops up when the mouse button is clicked to record your voice.

If you're expecting a product that is interactive in the sense of say, a Rosetta Stone type software, you will be sorely disappointed. This product merely records your voice and plays it back to you without evaluative feedback. You're then supposed to compare your version with the 'professional' version. You're better off listening to LiveATC on the web. Though the product claims to be compatible with Windows 7, system error messages would frequently pop up when I clicked the mouse button to record my voice. Plus, the interface really needs to be updated; it reminds one of an old DOS program. To be fair, the program is helpful towards practicing communications, but it's certainly NOT worth the price tag.

Great learning tool.

Cumbersome and outdated PC application.

The product does what it is supposed to, but the application is a legacy system at best. I feel like I'm running Windows 95 when this app is running. I'd love to see it updated for today's technology.

Get it for new pilots!

Good interface and simple to use. Good practice tool and helps to hear professionals interact as you would expect.

Have see other reviews and feel they may have been from more experenced pilots. This is for students and new pilots, I feel, and greatly helped me get comfortable on the radio. My instructor says my radio calls are very good, so that is my measuring stick.

I've used it for a while now and the only Pro(s) I can find is that it makes you listen and learn about different types of communication when speaking with tower, ground etc.

User Interface is not what I expected it looks more like it came from Pre Windows XP.

I suggest you don't buy this product. Rather more practice is a better then using this product. But everyone is different so I suggest you borrow the CD and try it from a friend or see if your flight school has the CD that you can try

The product works as advertised but I am disappointed that it does not run on the new Mac operating system (OS X 10.7 Lion). The problem is that Lion does not run the Windows system that came with the software for unpacking it from the CD and installing it. (Older versions of OS-X did run it.) I have to run Comm 1 on an older PC.

Incompatible with MAC OS Lion

Program walks you through various communication scenarios in sequential fashion. Still working on it--have not completed it fully yet.

Is not compatible with MAC OS Lion and no plans by the company to make it compatible. Was not Impressed with customer support---basically told me it is not compatible . Asked for workarounds with fusion or parallels for Mac and got no further reply.

No problem installing. The program is really helpful in understanding what you need to say to ATC in a variety of environments. Excellent for students or low-time pilots who don't fly "in the system" on a regular basis.

Great product. Very easy to use and helpful.

I have seen other list the graphics and price as cons. I dont mind the graphics or the price. Although a very simple program its some of the best money I have spent on my flight lessons.

Great for student pilots, such as myself, and allowed me to concentrate on learning to fly the plane without out being overwhelmed by the radio aspect. I dont think that it will make you a pro at the radio but it does wonders with the confort level.

Well organized presentation, easy to hear, and excellent enforcement of radio calls done CORRECTLY. Allows you to spend free ground time getting practice that would otherwise only happen in the air and only by going to specific different types of airports.

The only bad thing about this is if you don't get it and struggle while getting solid with your communications.

This is a huge help to me and a great value in the scheme of what is invested in getting a pilot's license. This is starting to sound like an advertisement but using this software to get really good at communicating adds a real level of extra safety to your flights. When commmunicating becomes second nature, you can focus on aviating. Another value is this puts you in the right hand seat if you haven't been flying in a while.

Excellent tool to begin to lose the mic fright. Very complete, informative, super helpful.

I zipped through the first 2 hours. I really like the playback feature and being able to assess my transmission against the 'expert' transmission. It allows me to know if I am clear. Thanks for a great product!

Professionally designed learning tool. Well organized, starting with basics and going into more complex scenarios. One can experience radio talk and practice newly acquired knowledge in appropriate exercises.

Minor software issues: sometimes slow response (on a MacBook laptop), when scrolling to choose a different lesson, clicking on a scroll bar starts lesson next to it rather then scrolling through the menu. But I consider these cosmetic issues without compromising the function.

As a non native speaker I find this as a great tool to learn and practice radio communication. Each lesson has an introduction and explanation of the topic followed by an exercise. During each exercise one follows a scenario and practices a radio communication. During each practice you listen, chooses a reply from multiple choices and records his own reply. It would be great if there would be a mode where you don't see any answer and you have to answer blindly. But besides this I really like it.
