Sporty’s Air-Scan® V Aviation Radio/Scanner gives pilots and aviation buffs two radios in one. With our exclusive Aviation Interrupt™ feature you can listen to a ballgame, talk-radio or music and never miss an exciting aviation transmission!
*What is Aviation Interrupt?
While listening to your favorite AM or FM station, the Air-Scan V silently scans up to 5 PRIORITY AVIATION channels for activity. When a signal is detected on any of these channels it INTERRUPTS the original AM or FM program and plays the aviation transmission. When the transmission ends, the Air-Scan V "returns you to your regularly scheduled program." What’s more, the frequency stored in memory channel #1 has priority over all other transmissions—even over the 4 other memory channels.

The Sporty's Air Scanner V is great. I can hear every day at every moment. Also, I can be working and listening: Approaches, Tower, Clearance, Ground, everything. Also it has high quality sound; I can understand everything between the tower and the aircraft. The best thing about the Sporty’s Air Scanner V it is the excellent price, here in my country something similar is very expensive maybe twice the price. To finish the Sporty’s Air Scanner V can be carried wherever you want and having electrical DC input or you can use it with batteries. It is an excellent product!!!! I am very happy with the Sporty’s Air Scanner V.

DURING POWER FAILURE THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE RADIO TO OPERATE ON BATTERIES IS TO DISCONNECT AC POWER CORD AT RADIO.

WHEN I WAS DOING MY RESEARCH ON AVAILABLE DESKTOP RADIOS TO FILL MY REQUIREMENTS, I CALLED YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO BE EDUCATED ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 77721A AND 7772OW MODELS AS SHOWN ON LINE AND IN YOUR CATALOG. I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE THE SAME-MADE NO SENSE TO ME SO I TRIED JUST ONE OTHER PROBE AND FOUND OW CAME WITH BATTERIES AND 1A WAS WITHOUT BATTERIES-CAME CLOSE TO GOING ELSEWHERE. I CALLED AGAIN REGARDING RADIO DESIGN DURING POWER OUTAGE, WAS TOLD IT SHOULD WORK AS DOES MY AIRSCAN II MODEL IE POWER OFF-BATTERIES ON WITH NO UNPLUGGING. I INFORMED YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THAT I WOULD TRY TO SIMULATE AND EXPOSE RADIO DURING POWER OUTTAGES WEVE HAD RECENTLY-NO IMPROVEMENT. WILL BE SENDING RADIO , BATTERIES, ETC. BACK FOR REPLACEMENT SOON, FRANKLY AT SOME FRUSTRATION LEVEL.
