This is absolutely a great product, underestimated due to the cost!!! It is better than I expected! Super easy to use. I am an A&P and use it to check elt plus atis while i do my flight training. Cant wait to build aircraft and use it in that!!

NONE so far other than the dual watch setting makes the transmission skip every other 3rd second.....took 8 times to get atis info until I figured out that was enable. Turned it off and it works great!!

It is a very nice unit and very compact. It has a lot of possibility.
Cons
The programming instructions are the pits. I have yet to be able to program more than one channel at a time. I have worked in electronics for 40 years and have done a lot of keypad programming. I have worked independently and with others but the programming instructions appear to be incomplete.

Small buttons. Directions are extremely complicated to try to program buttons. Its easier to just punch in the frequency and your done.
General Comments
I was able to hear a commercial airplane at 18,000 feet and 20 miles from my house. In the air I was loud and clear up to about 10 miles from the airport at 3000 feet AGL. Over all it is a reasonable comms that will work great as a backup.

The manual comes in handy, it's pretty difficult to look at and figure out, unlike most new electronic devices.

Overall would recommend, great tool for backup. I'm a student pilot and just didn't end up needed it as much for plane spotting or emergencies so I would rather use the money towards flight fees.

Programming takes a little time. All the channels preprogrammed in the book memory are of little value to me. When you finally find the one you want, it's too late.
