Capt. Eldon W. Joersz was a USAF pilot who currently holds the World Air Speed Record which he set on July 28, 1976 in a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird at a speed of 2,193.167 mph. He is a command pilot with more than 4,500 flying hours, which includes more than 450 hours of combat time in Vietnam and Laos flying the F-105 Thunderchief. Joersz also won many awards, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired with the rank of Major General. This 8” x 10” photo of the SR-71 Blackbird has been personally signed by Eldon W. Joersz and has been matted in a handsome wooden frame. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Measures about 13” x 16”.
