Tibbets on the mission to drop the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Capt. Theodore "Dutch" Van Kirk (navigator) and 2nd Lt. Morris R Jeppson (assistant weaponeer) trained alongside Col. Tibbets for nearly a year for the top secret assignment. By early August, 1945, training was complete, and Tibbets, Van Kirk and Jeppson flew the Enola Gay into history. This handcrafted mahogany aeroscrupture is a limited edition replica of the famous B-29 that helped end the war in the Pacific. The mini nose art panel on the base is hand numbered and has been personally signed by Dutch Van Kirk and Morris Jeppson. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity with matching number. Measures 17"l and has a wingspan of 23".
