The P-40 Tomahawk was the first fighter flown in action against Japanese forces in Burma before the official U.S. entry into WW II. David Lee “Tex” Hill was one of the very first to volunteer to fly and fight with the American Volunteer Group (AVG) that would achieve fame as the legendary “Flying Tigers”. Promoted to Major, Tex served two tours in China emerging with 18.25 aerial victories to become one of America’s leading aces. Model measures 15”l and has a wingspan of 17.5”.
