Product description:
The best Lightspeed headset yetThe all new Lightspeed Zulu is lighter, quieter and has better acoustics than any headset Lightspeed has ever made. Quiet: The low profile ear cups are made from magnesium, which reflects 10 times more sound than plastic cups, yet is stronger and lighter. Even with the ANR turned off, the headset is remarkably quiet. Add Lightspeed’s renowned active noise reduction and the Lightspeed Zulu simply delivers more overall noise cancellation than any headset available.Comfortable:The Zulu is made from magnesium, stainless steel and four different types of composite plastics for excellent durability, but it weighs a mere 13 oz. It also features a new ergonomic fit, with 40% less lower side pressure than the 3G series. Luxurious leather earseals with temperature sensitive foam make for a soft and comfortable fit.Bluetooth compatible:The Lightspeed Zulu allows you to connect wirelessly with your cell phone, iPod, MP3 player or other compatible device—ideal for passengers or long cross-countries. All controls are conveniently located in the battery box. Also includes wired inputs for music and cell phone.Front Row Center Audio:
Because the Lightspeed Zulu is so quiet, you can actually appreciate fine audio. And the headset is loaded with audiophile features, like premium gold contacts and Lightspeed’s innovative Noise Gating Technology, which reduces intercom noise. The Front Row Center feature uses special circuitry to create an amazingly lifelike, surround-sound environment in the headphones.
Folds flat for storage. 5-year warranty. Includes: headset, microphone windscreen, 2 AA batteries, carrying case, 2.5mm cell phone cable, audio device cable, user guide.

A must have
Pros
Comfortable even on long flights, enables you to hear controlers better, cuts out the wind noise at the higher alt. well built, solid fit and finish. Fits nicely in my kit bag!
Cons
Mike is on the Left side only, when I upgrade to Captain this will not be a problem. In the mean time I will deal with it

Pros
I have the origanal Zulu - over a year now and would not trade them for anything else! absolutely fantastic. expensive but worth it. Bluetooth works with both my blackberry and my motorola droid. very comfortable and the passive noise is great - so good I almost forget to turn on the anr!!! I bought 2 additional sets and gave one to my CFI - my graduation gift to him for getting me to my PPL. the other set is for whoever is riding with me - makes them that much more comfortable.

This is my second set. The others are two years old and have been perfect to date. I reccommend them highly. I tried the competition and although they were quite good, the Zulu's worked the best for me.

Lightweight, fantastic ANR performance, very comfortable even in hot weather, Bluetooth and music inputs are flawless
Cons
Expensive, big difference in noise and mic/headset volume with ANR turned off
General Comments
This is my 3rd headset, and the only one I will use until it's completely dead. Even then I'll probably try to revive it. I look forward to flying anyway, but this makes it even more enjoyable.
More to adjust than the Avcomm, but also more fidelity and comfort. Far less fiddly and easier to use than the Lightspeed Mach 1.

Expectations resulting from my product research were fully realized. Also, a 16000s plusflying hours friend discussed the pro /con apects of the Lightspeed Zulu headsets vs. the Bose comparable product. The group that he worked with for many years used both - preferring the Lightspeed.
He used a Bose set that he has had for several- and cautioned me about leaving my Lightspeed headset 'unattended'. He may have been joshing me!

Pros
After my first 2.5 hour flight, I barely knew I was wearing a headset, very comfortable and light weight. I wear BTE hearing aids and had no problems with acoustic feed-back and the audio clarity was great. I plugged my cell phone into the headset adapter and was able to make crystal clear calls from the plane as we prepared for arrival at our destination (have not tried the Blu-tooth yet).
Cons
cord-to-clothing clip was broken when I received the set; Sporty's is arranging to replace it.

I have used David Clark headsets for over five years. A CFII suggested me trying the Lightspeed Zulu but I hesitated due to the price. I had a demo of DC and Lightspeed at Sun N Fun this year. After this demo it was easy to tell that Lightspeed was far superior of DC and worth the higher cost.

Pros
Great sound quality with easy blue tooth set up. Very lightweight and comfortable. Phone call quality is superb via blue tooth connection. People on the other line find it hard to believe that I'm talking to them in a running aircraft.
Cons
Experiencing some problems streaming music over blue tooth connection. It may be pilot error but nonetheless it should not be quite this tricky to get good music streaming.
General Comments
Overall a great headset.
