Master craftsmen chip away the excess wood from a block of kiln-dried mahogany until, amazingly, your airplane starts to appear. They work their hand tools with remarkable precision and attention to detail. Several stages of fine sanding, between primer coats, produce a silky smooth finish ready for final painting. Talented artists using ultra-fine brushes, paint the nose art, stripes and markings. A final coat of clear lacquer provides lasting protection to the exquisite finish. Our quality control team, made up of former military and civilian pilots with over 20,000 hours of flying time, oversees the entire production process. Each inspector assures uncompromising standards at each stage, from the moment the chisel first creases the wood until the beautifully painted model is packed into its foam fitted shipping case. Now you can enjoy a custom model of your favorite airplane, the one you own or fly, or perhaps the very airplane in which you soloed! Ordering Information—to ensure the accuracy of your Custom Model, please provide us with all the information necessary to make your model precisely. Include the make, model, year, and N number of your aircraft. Send us a minimum of four photographs showing views of the front, side, rear, wing tips, and photos of any other special details such as logos or pilot names. Sketches, paint chips, paint numbers, or any other information you can supply will help us in recreating your aircraft accurately. Please allow 10 weeks for delivery.
