Pros
Got this 3 ring binder to hold plates for the IFR check ride. I usually print out the plates and clip them under the yoke timer but was told the examiner would only permit original plates. This solves that problem nicely.
Cons
The binder is pretty big and stiff, but does the job. It's pretty easy to remove the plate you'll need then return it to the binder for future use. Takes up a lot more room than the softbound TERPS plates so I'm not sure I'll use this indefinately. But it's easier to use than tearing the pages out of the softbound book to clip on the yoke. Someday we'll all be digital but not for my check ride! I'll stick with paper and a highlighter pen on the paper plates.
General Comments
Wish they had some dividers or index place holders, but I'll probably make some out of a manila folder to tab the plates I use a lot. Or use post it note flags on those plates.

Pros
Large rings make flipping through the pages relatively easy. Cover should be quite durable given the thickness of the plastic.
Cons
Plastic gets pretty stiff and somewhat hard to open when temperatures are near or below freezing.
General Comments
Like most things for aviation this rather simple notebook is over priced at $10. If you add the additional $5 for shipping and handling to the cost, then it is really overpriced for what it is.

Pros
The Vinyl Binder for NOS flip charts (loose leaf - not bound books) is a very good, sturdy and practical purchase. The vinyl is not too thin, it is not cheap and will not tear.
I live in New England and have 3 vinyl binders for each NOS coverage area (NE-1, NE-2, NE-3, NE-4). I also purchased the "Bonded Leather" version of the NOS loose leaf binder and use that binder for my primary flying area (NE-1) The leather binder is very nice and only $16.95 #3916A in Sporty's catalog.
If you only have one coverage area to buy a binder for, I would recommend getting the "Bonded Leather" version. It is worth the difference in price and you will be very happy with it in your flight bag.
The vinyl binders are fine as well...... just a suggestion.

Pros
Easy to use. Durable protection for NACO plates. Works well with the color tabs.
Cons
A bit pricey for a sheet of plastic with a 4-ring binder insert. Just a little (maybe 3/4") too big to fit vertically into a Sporty's IFR Flight Bag.

Great way to organize loose leaf charts. Though you will want to have some protectors for your more frequently used approaches.

Pros
Better than the ASA binder. With the smaller ASA binder, the approach charts in the front and back of the binder are very difficult to remove without losing the others. The ring size on the Sporty's Binder is small enough to take up minimal storage space while allowing easy access to all the charts. Also, for anyone who uses the Brightline Pilot Flight Bag, this binder fits perfectly inside.

VERY durable. Rings mate nicely. Fits one set of plates.

The cover gets in the way. Can't really use with a top-clipped kneeboard. no insert for the name of the plates, which are now covered up by the lid.

Pros
Nice to have 2" spiral inside.
Cons
The covers are too long for the NACO charts. I cut my down so the charts fit inside the binder better.
