I should have bought the fuel tester/strainer combo right from the start. If you buy the tester alone, the first time you use it, you'll wish you bought the strainer for it also so just get them both and save the S&H

Metal pin doesn't break, splash guard (i think that's what the other piece is for) works, and the handle keeps my hands away from the fuel.
Cons
It's really the same as the fuel testers with the plastic pins except for the metal actuator, which is the same size and material as a wire hanger. In that sense i feel that the price was slightly unjust. Additionally, the random handle and splash guard are large and oddly shaped, which doesn't allow it to fit into any of the pockets of my flight bag.
General Comments
It's a fuel tester, and for less that $20 any minor annoyances in it's design seem arbitrary. It does what it was designed to do.

Seems very durable. I was impressed with the quality of plastic and assembly. Assuming I don't lose this or run it over, I doubt I'll need another tester for a long time.
Cons
This is a standard size, but it seems to me that it would be a little small for a plane with more than 2 drain valves without having to constantly empty it between tests. A pretty minor problem, though.
