Everything is spot on for accuracy. I went up with my uncle (a pilot and plane owner) after going through all the CDs once and everything they covered in the videos (for the student pilot basics my uncle demonstrated) was exactly what I experienced in flight—except the turbulence. Hard to replicate that on my home computer!
Cons
It doesn't come with a full-motion simulator . . . but then again, that would add a few hundred thousand dollars to the purchase price.

I would recommend this DVD course to anyone who is serious about persuing their private pilot cert. I alos purchased the mobile application which allowed me to stream every DVD thru my smart phone as well. coupling these together along with Sporty's Study Buddy app, I was able to score an 87% on my FAA written exam 11 days after my order....and I have never had any flight training!

Excellent review after reading FAA text. FAA text is well written in some areas; not so in others. This course really clarifies things and is never dull. This course explains many things that I had doubts about. I am technically savvy and gadget oriented as an orthopaedic surgeon and lifeling tinkerer as well as having held an Amateur Extra license for much of my life, so when I end up confused reading the FAA texts, then something is wrong. This course really addresses difficult topics well. I sure have a lot to learn!!

Sporty's Comlete Private Pilot Course

The video lessons are clear and well thought out. I bought this course to 're-do' my ground school to finish my private pilot license that are started 10 years ago. It has met that purpose very well. The questions are relevant and to the point.
Cons
While the video tutorials are great, I would like to see some computer based training involved as well (not just DVD movie questions). Such as situational mini-simulations with what if scenarios built in.
General Comments
This is a great product that can help you get a good jump start on your private pilot license. Well worth the money when compared to how much you would be paying an instructor to teach you the same information; not to mention you can go back and review at any time. It is nice to be able to review flight technique and maneuvers before each flight lesson to get the most our of your time with the instructor.

Was not what I expected. Paid a lot of money for information. Reviewed/watched the first 3 DVDs and it did not train me on anything. Took some of the quizzes after each section and they did not follow that lesson and required you to know more than what they discussed. This is NOT a self-study program, you still have to go to ground school with an instructor to learn.

Customer service was outstanding. I will definitely do business with Sporty's again. They are an excellent company/store this just was not what I was expecting. Again, the customer service was extremely friendly and helpful. No questions asked when returning items just explanations on how to return and courteous staff.

Although very helpful, the online study buddy test prep is a little cumbersome. had to keep logging out and back on to continue, thus why the lower reliability rating. I notified customer service about this problem, perhaps they will address the issue.
