"Yes, these things actually cool the cabin." "We like the Arctic Air products best, because they're entirely self-contained, can double as drink and food cooler and the pump-out feature makes them easy to handle."

Pros: This product generally works as advertised. It does provide cool air for about two hours on 40 lbs of ice. The pump out feature is great and since we have it strapped into the back seat of a Cessna 177, I'm not sure how we would remove it if it was full of water.
Cons: The vents are held in place with pretty flimsy looking plastic couplers with locking features that look like they were cut by hand with a Dremel. The instructions are also not very informative. I had to read some reviews to finally figure out that the system uses a heat exchanger to really cool the air down. So if the pump isn't running, the air doesn't get all the cool. Also don't expect to be able to aim the air precisely. The flexible tubes that are supplied cannot bend very tightly. I also put an ammeter on the cooler... at full blast, the system draws slightly over 5A, so if your lighter adapter only has a 5A fuse, be careful.

Pros: cold air.
Cons: BULKY. HEAVY. STATIC IN RADIOS FROM BILGE PUMP. TRIPS CIGARETTE LIGHTER FUSE.
Comments: 1978 CESSNA 210. PLUG INTO CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND IT BLOWS FUSE EVERY FEW SECONDS. ALSO, BILGE PUMP CAUSES STATIC IN OUR KING RADIOS. TAKES UP ALOT OF SPACE. MUST REMOVE THE COOLER AND CLEAN OTHERWISE IT GETS MOLDY. RETURNING PRODUCT. WILL BUY PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT CAUSE STATIC IN RADIOS DUHHHHH. STUPID PRODUCTS WASTE MY TIME.
