3 weeks agoDurability4 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?Yesas a student pilotI was fortunate enough to have a friend give me an old pair of Bose X when I first started my flight training in 2009. For various reasons, I had to stop training--for the most part--before 2010. I restarted training in the summer of 2017 using the same headset. It was in November that I noticed a crack along the cover of a wire and knew it was time to replace the Bose X.
The Bose X, obviously, has great durability. I will assume my new A20s will be the same, but I wouldn't give them a 5 star until I know for sure. Otherwise, they are a nice upgrade. They are very comfortable and I can't ever imagine life without ANR.
Keep in mind, I haven't used any other brand and I am a low time...ok, low-low time...pilot. But I still recommend them to anyone that asks.January 30, 2018Purchased

The Bluetooth for music and phone is beautiful. I don’t listen to music while flying but wanted to see what the sound is like and was blown away at the quality. I have the Q35 II headphones and these are equal or better. In our great room at home I put my wife’s favorite song on and handed the A20’s to her, she smiled and wave bye and kept them on! I have had the pleasure of using all the latest headsets and these are the lightest feeling and least compression feeling on my head/face of all. 2+ hours flights are very comfortable, no ‘ear sweat’! My CFI has serious hearing loss and requires hearing aids. The A20’s are the only headset he can comfortably wear without issue. I know they are not for everybody, but you should try them o. A flight if you ever can before you buy.January 13, 2018Purchased

1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability4 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesComfortable HeadsetI ordered two of these headsets for my wife and I and cannot explain how much more comfortable they are compared to my David Clark 13.4 I have. The sound quality is amazing and the ease of setup for the bluetooth was nice. The only issue we had was one of the microphones was bad coming from the factory but when I called Sporty's they had a UPS truck come to my house to pick up the bad one and send me a new one right away. If nothing else the customer service between Bose and Sporty's was awesome. I know and trust the Bose brand so I am not worried about the bad mic. I do wish they had a little better quality control off the line but they now know about the issue.January 8, 2018Purchased

I'm glad I did! The ANR works great and I it is so comfortable that I forget that it's on. I still maintain that it's a little steep on price and given the its closest competitor is nearly $300 less, I don't see why this price point has to be so much more. That said, the consumer votes with the wallet and they (myself included) are still buying so Bose knows what they are doing.January 6, 2018Purchased

My last headset, a Peltor, lasted 30 years and is still going strong. Noise cancelling still bothers me a bit on takeoff as I like to hear the engine, so I turn it off for takeoff. Will have try it and get used to it.January 5, 2018Purchased
1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesBest avaiation headset I’ve ever usedI have used many headsets over the many many years I have been in aviation. I will say that you will enjoy other headsets but this one just is above the top in style and comfort and ease of use. I unfortunatly from years of military jet aircraft have hard time hearing ATC but I have found that this headset I did not struggle at all. I did try other headsets before buying this and none compared. The comfort is amazing and could wear for hours on end. May seem extreme but wore for ten hours straight during weekend and never complained nor had ear sweat. If you normally have trouble hearing comfort issues or just want stylish pair of aviation headset this is the one. You’ll love it so much you’ll go buy your entire family a pair.January 1, 2018Purchased

I am moving up from DC 10-13S and it is a huge difference, I tried Zulu 3 and a few other ANC and just like these better. Hope they last as long as my DCs which are being moved back to passenger headsets.December 25, 2017Purchased

And if you need to call in for a clearance you can do it with your phone and hear it all in your headset.
The only thing i might say is to think hard if you want the typical two pin plugs connections. In which case the noise cancellation on off switch runs off batteries. You have to change them about every 10 hours or so. Or if your plane has the one pin option for your headset,(the round six pen) , it will supply power to the headset and you needn't worry about batteries ever. I have owned and used a variety of headsets over the years. I purchased a two Bose A20's last July. They are very comfortable. I understand the "pinching" problem that can occur with other headsets and I feel that this is completely a non-issue with the Bose A20's.
