Super lightweight
I bought this for my wife (she didn't want to mess her hair) and she loves it! I thought I'd give it a try. I was surprised once I got it on it preformed very well. Flying in the hot, humid Florida afternoon it was almost refreshing not to have ear muffs clamped to the side of my head. A good purchase!

Love, love, love these
I originally purchased for aerobatics, but have since begun using them for all my flying. Yes, they take a few more seconds to squeeze the ear buds & insert, and those little guys do occasionally fall off, but these are the only minuses I have. Otherwise they are lightweight, cause no headaches or stress during long flights, and the audio is always crystal clear. I keep a pack of ear buds in the case and despite flying ~100/yr, only go through a pack in that time.

not bad but definitely not like I expected
I had big expectations as a few fellow pilots highly recommended that headset to me. The sound quality and the microphone are really good. So there is no complain on the audio quality at all. For me, the major issue was that the head-rig, tube, wire what ever you want to call it feels pretty weak. I had always the feeling that this headset will break if you are not wearing velvet gloves. Most importantly I got pressure marks behind my ears. I shipped it back and ordered the David Clark H10-13X.

Happy with my Clarity Aloft headset
Being new to aviation, I was not comfortable wearing the Bose X headset for any length of time due to too much pressure on my head. The Clarity Aloft headset is everything I hoped it would be - affordable, no batteries, light, easy to use and the sound is excellent. My husband (the pilot) borrow them, and now he's probably going to have to purchase a set for himself. For less head/ear pressure and weight, Clarity Aloft was the answer for me.

Effective at blocking the noise
Better than expected and more protection from the drone of even two large piston engines. You will need to learn to insert them pretty far into the ear for it to work the best. Fwiw, I also have an ANR headset with some problems with a getting a good seal. I plan to use both for a while.

Very comfortable
Worn these on a few trips now including a couple of six hour long ones. Very comfortable a little bit of a pain to put on and off compared to a normal headset but the lack of weight more than makes up for it unless you did nothing but get in and out all day. Really like them. Mic works great. Sound quality is awesome and it stops the noise like nothing else without the weird anr background. Highly recommend

My Go To Headset
I've had my Clarity Aloft headset for a few years an absolutely love it. I've got Bose and David Clark also and nothing against either of them, but my Clarity is much more comfortable, no batteries to worry about and can be worn all day (literally) without clamping or head fatigue. Recently, had to get my wife a set as well because she can wear the Clarity without messing her hair up. And that's a win for both of us!

Best for most
This is the best headset for me. Comfortable, so light weight. Great noise cancelling and clarity. And the company stands behind their product 100%

Not suited for commercial pilots
The left ear bud on my headset failed 3 times in four years of daily commercial use. Yes, I DID take care not to twist the wire when inserting the bud in my ear and store it carefully in its case after use. This headset does not stand up to daily commercial pilot use. Further, the company does not support commercial pilots with expedited repairs or a loaner headset. Clearly they do not have commercial operations in mind. I gave up on the durability of the product/ customer support and went to David Clark.

How does the noise reduction compare to Bose?
A shopper on Oct 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is a tricky question to answer because the headsets manage noise differently. The dense foam tips in the Clarity Aloft headset cancel outside noise by created an effective barrier in the ear canal. The Bose headset uses noise dampening from the ear cups plus active noise reduction technology to neutralize certain sound frequencies. I have limited time testing the Bose ANR headsets but I own a Sennheiser ANR headset and I've tested the new AKG product.
I fly a Piper Comanche 260. It's a pretty loud cockpit. Engine noise is more prominent with the Clarity Aloft product but I do not find it annoying or fatiguing. In fact, because the headset does not neutralize the sound waves, rather it just reduces the volume, I am better able to discern small changes in engine noise. I feel more in-tune with what's going on. I also like the freedom from bulky ear cups. No fussing putting on or adjusting glasses and foggles. No sweaty ears on summer days. The weight is practically zero.
Cons: Playing music on a high quality headset will obviously sound better. These are, after all, just fancy earbuds. I have no idea how durable these will be long term but the build quality seems pretty good. Sometimes I get a little pressure sensitivity around the front of the ear on the mic side from the support wire but it tends to abate on its own. Then again, I've never been completely comfortable with the clamping force of any headset either so this is one trade-off for another.
Best I can say is order them and give them a good workout before the end of the return period. They're so simple in design that it's hard to justify the price at first but everything general aviation is expensive. The ear bud wires and housing could be more substantial to limit the risk of snapping due to getting caught on something, so they should be stored in the case when not in use. Aside from that I like them just fine.
Can the boom mic be used from either the left or right side?
A shopper on Feb 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No the mic is only on one side.
Can molded ear plugs be used in place of the foam ear plugs?
A shopper on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The ear plugs which come with the headset have a hole through the middle and screw onto the headset. If your molded ear plugs fit that, they might work.
