Pros: Very light weight and comfortable to wear; clarity and mic were very good; outside niose was much the same as ANRs; no sweat areas; no head rub/pain; takes up less space in bag/aircraft; no batteries needed. Cons: Cord clip is a must, otherwise the cord will pull on the headset and dislodge, also pull mic away from mouth - cord clip works well; Ear plugs are pricey and ear canals were sore after long trips the first few times, but became less sore the more it was used. Can be delicate - place in a protected area when entering and exiting the aircraft. Overall great value - wife will not wear anything else.

My Go To Headset
I've had my Clarity Aloft headset for a few years an absolutely love it. I've got Bose and David Clark also and nothing against either of them, but my Clarity is much more comfortable, no batteries to worry about and can be worn all day (literally) without clamping or head fatigue. Recently, had to get my wife a set as well because she can wear the Clarity without messing her hair up. And that's a win for both of us!

Pros: Quiet, simple, light, clear communication, forget it's there Cons: Appears to be fragile, but in use it holds up great I had owned / use my DC 13.10-HC for years and was ready to move up. I purchased a used Bose X headset and used it. It was much quieter and lighter, but when I compared it to the Clarity Aloft, it was pretty amazing. Yes, there is a little background engine noise that there wasn't in the bose, but the clarity of communication was better for me. And on on the comfort, lightness, and not having the clunky ear muffs on there is no comparison. The Clarity aloft is much more convenient and comfortable. You do stand out from the status-quo when wearing this head set, but sometimes different is good.

Pros: Excellent clarity, Light weight, and very easy to use. Everything I've read is correct. As a professional pilot I use it almost everyday, and it serves me very well. I would consider it an excellen value. I have reccomended it to other pilots. Cons: The case is too small, and I have to fit it perfectly into the case or it gets stuck in the zipper. It makes it difficult, and once it did get caught in the zipper, luckly it didn't damage the wire. I am not happy with the quaility of the case it self; not sturdy. There are spots where it is already frayed, and the zipper gets stuck sometimes. I really like the headset, it works very well. I have no problems with it's use. The company should make available a better, bigger case, than value would be perfect.

Pros: - Lightweight - Comfortable - Clear sound Cons: - The price... - Having to replace the ear buds :-/ I like this headset, flown a couple of times with it (7ECA and 172SP). The noise is equivalent to my old ANR headset. Sound quality is great, I could hear the controllers very well. Also, I can finally wear sun glasses without ruining the ANR.

Pros: Not heavy. No clamping of a heavy headset on your head. Good noise reduction. Not nearly as flimsy as some reviews made them sound. Cons: If you need bigger (or smaller) ear buds than what the company thinks is 'normal' you only get one set of buds instead of the three sets that the normal people get. I was a little apprehensive at first, worried that I was going to get a real flimsy piece of equipment that I was going to snap in two trying to put it around my head. This headset seems quite strong. It doesn't look like I can abuse them like I do my sunglasses, but I'm certainly not worried about them breaking during normal careful use. The ear buds that are supposed to fit 80% of the people were still a little too small, so I needed to get the bigger size, but once they were in, the sound is very quiet. I went flying in a 172 and fell in love with them. I had an older pair of passive headsets and these do a better job of keeping noise out. If you have ever worn the foam ear plugs when cutting the grass or trying to sleep, you will have no problem with these. I found them to be very comfortable and when using the clip for the cables, almost no notice that I was even wearing them. While the initial price is not exactly pocket change, the ability to keep more noise out and have no issues with wearing sunglasses, hats, or even headset hair, I definitely will be saving up for another pair for my wife. And with Sportys 1year guarantee, what do you have to lose? Give these a try!

Happy with my Clarity Aloft headset
Being new to aviation, I was not comfortable wearing the Bose X headset for any length of time due to too much pressure on my head. The Clarity Aloft headset is everything I hoped it would be - affordable, no batteries, light, easy to use and the sound is excellent. My husband (the pilot) borrow them, and now he's probably going to have to purchase a set for himself. For less head/ear pressure and weight, Clarity Aloft was the answer for me.

Pros: Lightweight, the comfort can't be beat. I'm a student pilot, and I wouldnt want to fly with anything else. Fits in case nicely. Was nervous about noise reduction, but it is good. ATC/radio clear. Boom mike picks up voice well. Comes with lapel cable clip, I put mine on shoulder harness. Cons: Price. 4/5 durability, the earbuds are somewhat fragile. Comes with ear buds, don't buy extra.

How does the noise reduction compare to Bose?
A shopper on Oct 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is a tricky question to answer because the headsets manage noise differently. The dense foam tips in the Clarity Aloft headset cancel outside noise by created an effective barrier in the ear canal. The Bose headset uses noise dampening from the ear cups plus active noise reduction technology to neutralize certain sound frequencies. I have limited time testing the Bose ANR headsets but I own a Sennheiser ANR headset and I've tested the new AKG product.
I fly a Piper Comanche 260. It's a pretty loud cockpit. Engine noise is more prominent with the Clarity Aloft product but I do not find it annoying or fatiguing. In fact, because the headset does not neutralize the sound waves, rather it just reduces the volume, I am better able to discern small changes in engine noise. I feel more in-tune with what's going on. I also like the freedom from bulky ear cups. No fussing putting on or adjusting glasses and foggles. No sweaty ears on summer days. The weight is practically zero.
Cons: Playing music on a high quality headset will obviously sound better. These are, after all, just fancy earbuds. I have no idea how durable these will be long term but the build quality seems pretty good. Sometimes I get a little pressure sensitivity around the front of the ear on the mic side from the support wire but it tends to abate on its own. Then again, I've never been completely comfortable with the clamping force of any headset either so this is one trade-off for another.
Best I can say is order them and give them a good workout before the end of the return period. They're so simple in design that it's hard to justify the price at first but everything general aviation is expensive. The ear bud wires and housing could be more substantial to limit the risk of snapping due to getting caught on something, so they should be stored in the case when not in use. Aside from that I like them just fine.
Can the boom mic be used from either the left or right side?
A shopper on Feb 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No the mic is only on one side.
Can molded ear plugs be used in place of the foam ear plugs?
A shopper on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The ear plugs which come with the headset have a hole through the middle and screw onto the headset. If your molded ear plugs fit that, they might work.
