David Clark is American made and has excellent customer service. My carrying case came in with their logo upside down. I sent customer service at DC an email and the next day they responded sending a new one out to me free of charge immediately. The ANR is great and allows me to still hear the engine but makes it quieter and easy on the ears. The headset is durable and comfortable.
The only con about the headset is the way it folds... the way it folds doesn't allow you to wrap the chord around it like most other headsets, but it isn't a huge concern to me. The Bluetooth works great with music and also with calls. You'll love this headset, especially if it's your first ANR like myself.October 9, 2017Purchased

VERY impressed w the passive noise reduction as well as the ENC. More than a few times, I've almost made it the entire flight without realizing that I hadn't turned the ENC on. Don't get me wrong - when the ENC is on, you DEFINITELY know it. My experience aligns with some other reviews I've seen; the headset doesn't eliminate all noise, it just makes everything MUCH quieter. I prefer it that way. I still want to be able to hear cues from RPM and pitch of the relative wind around the canopy.
I really like that Bluetooth and its two different BT modes can be changed without taking the batteries out. You don't need to distract yourself from the cockpit to make the changes you want with the headset. Also, the audio sounds just fine!
I also bought the Lightspeed Sierra but sent it back because I didn't like the Bluetooth interface, and the headset was quite bulky compared to this one. I'm a taller guy, so I need all the headroom I can get. I did consider the Zulu3, but didn't give them a shot since (1) they aren't made in the USA, (2) you can't reverse the mic, and (3) they aren't TSO'd. I like that this headset can come with me no matter what my aspirations are. I understand that the Zulu3 ear cups are designed to only fit one direction, but that seemed a bit inconvenient.
I appreciate how compact this thing is when you fold it up. I try to travel light, and while I don't use the included DC bag (which seems of fine quality, and adequate if you don't want to carry anything but the essentials when you fly), it takes up much less space than other headsets in my flight bag.
Lastly, this headset is VERY lightweight and comfortable. Now, the only discomfort I ever feel wearing this headset is caused by my sunglasses. The pressure from this headset is absolutely minimal - and again, without sacrificing the passive noise reduction. This headset strikes the PERFECT balance for me. Simple, clean, accessible, convenient, user-friendly, quality. I'm very pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend this headset. The Bluetooth connection is easy to set up and the phones have great music sound. The David Clark's are much more durable than my old Bose headset, but the noise cancellation isn't quite on par with the Bose technology. Despite that minor negative, I've found the DC-One to be very comfortable on long flights and so far, they don't seem to eat through batteries like the Zulu headphones.July 22, 2017Purchased

However compared to my 20 year old ASA air classic headset it's amazing. I bought the DCs because in addition to the lower cost then the Bose A20 I read reviews that stated for piston engine pilots like myself the DC's let in a little more engine noise which helps with being able to hear the change in pitch of the engine. I find that it does well in that catagory and the ANR technology is excellent for loud cockpits like the Cessna 172 that I fly.July 14, 2017Purchased

I flew with them for the first time from Houston to Washington D.C. in a Grumman Tiger, which was over 9 hours of flight time. The headset was very comfortable to wear the entire flight and was not near as tight as other headsets (both David Clark and other brands) that do not have ANC. The ANC blocked out the excess engine noise, but perfectly balanced to allow me to continue to hear the engine just fine to judge performance. At the end of the long day, my head felt fine and not at all sore from being squeezed. Hooking up the Bluetooth to my iPhone was a breeze. Some reviews complained about not being able to hang the headset up on the yoke, but I found that I like to leave the headset in the bag and take them out once I got inside the plane. This worked fine and I actually prefer that technique now to the old habit pattern of hanging the headset on the yoke. When the flight is done, they fold easily away back into the bag and takes up less room than my other headsets. The price is the only drawback, otherwise I would have three others in the plane already. My former headsets were the iconic H10-13.4 that served me well and I found the ONE-X to be an awesome step up. It has just the right clamping pressure and the control module is perfectly easy to use and the user guide is straightforward with no waffle which made this already easy to use headset even easier to use. Tested it out on a flight today on the 172S and I found that this headset really cancels a lot of noise however still allows the engine to be heard clearly so you can set throttle by hearing and you will notice if the engine is playing up in any way. It cancels the noise in a way that allows you to hear the engine but not be fatigued by its constant droning. Pros: Good clamp that provides excellent PNR Excellent ANR that provides just the right noise reduction Very comfortable ear seals and outlast headband Easy to use control module, even a monkey can figure it out (I am serious) Great control module clip which is durable and sturdy Amazing audio quality for communications and music Cons: Don't like how the headset defaults to a folded state, I do like to hang my headset on the mixture for preflight Microphone seems to be a tad too short, but with adjustment this is rectified Looking forward to many years of faithful service from this pair of green domes!December 25, 2016

That being said it is only the headset earcup shape that prevents this from happening. If you are handy I don't believe it would be very difficult to add enough material such that the One-X would fit into the helmet.
I have a One-X that I love, and I keep a H10-13X in my K10 helmet for flights I need the helmet.Would you recommend this over the Zulu 2/Bose A20?BEST ANSWER: Depends on what you are looking for. The David Clark DC One-X uses the same electronics pkg as the David Clark DC Pro. I have around 8,500hrs of flight time and currently fly as captain on a Legacy 600. I came to the corporate side after 8yrs of flying at the regionals. Build quality and comfort are the top two things I look for. The noise canceling is excellent and the BQ/comfort is great. Youc an't go wrong.Can it be ordered with a helicopter plug?
