Thank god because the noise reduction function works great. It blocks out low level rumbling engine noise and all I can seem to hear is the high pitch of the propeller spinning and pushing the air around the aircraft.
Only negative side is that the batteries run out fast. Therefore, swing by your local WalMart and buy yourself a good set of rechargeable batterries. I got the energizer 4 AA pack with 2000 MAH per battery. There is a cheaper pack with rechargeable batteries and charger but those only have 1300 MAH. Basically the 2000 MAH holds more energy than the 1300 MAH and should last longer between recharges.
Good luck SUPER PILOTS. =)December 5, 2017Purchased

Surprisingly, the ANR on the Faro headset is close to the Bose for less than half the price!
The only downside I found is the ANR is very sensitive to earcup positioning. When worn with thick sunglasses there is a very noticeable reduction in performance.
With that in mind, this headset is an exceptional value!November 28, 2017Purchased

I wanted inexpensive ANR backup headset. Tested my new FARO STEALTH ANR headset one day after I received it and it performed as expected. It felt a little heavy at first compare to the BOSE but after 30 minutes flight I got used to it and I forgot that I am using a different headset. My son likes the AUX input to listen to his music in flight. I recommend it for the price.

1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesAn ANR headset in its own class, basicallyI found this headset to be a great fit for me. For quality, comfort and features, they probably are not better than anything costing more than these, but are likely WAAY better than cheaper or similar priced options.October 25, 2017Purchased

I have found it comfortable to wear for at least an hour at a time. I haven’t worn it for longer than that yet but suspect it will continue to be comfortable for longer flights as well.September 28, 2017Purchased

This is my first ANR headset and it really works well. I am getting back into flying and building experience prior to test flying my Zenith Zodiac. This makes it so easy to bear the radio or passenger. I recommend this unconditionally- great comfort, noise cancelling and very affordable.September 17, 2017Purchased

Unfortunately, when I first tried it, audio in the right ear didn't work, and the mic was very muffled. I read similar reviews of people having audio issues in on of the ears. Not sure if my headset was malfunctioned or if this is a regular occurrence in all of them.July 15, 2017Purchased
5 months agoResponse from Sporty's Pilot ShopThe one ear audio problem may be due to the stereo/mono setting not being set appropriately for your audio ipanel. Try flipping that switch and see if that fixes it.August 10, 2017John ZimmermanStaffPerformance1 / 5Value1 / 5Would You Recommend?YesA waste of money.A waste of money. The ANR is almost non-existent. A good passive headset is a much better use of your flying dollars.July 14, 2017Purchased
6 months agoDurability4 / 5Reliability3 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use3 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?Yesgood economy headset for a beginnerI've owned this headset for a couple of months. It is a good headset for the money. But if I was doing it again, I would probably spend the extra money for Lightspeed Sierra.
Note that the stereo/mono switch is poorly located. It is easy to accidentally switch it to stereo while changing the batteries, I've done it twice. Once you've done this, the switch is so small and hard to see that you can't switch it back easily It's virtually impossible in flight, I have to use a flashlight and small screwdriver to switch it. This is a real pain when you are on an ifr flight plan going in and out of IMC, glad my old David Clark's were within reach!June 23, 2017Reliability3 / 5Performance3 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5ANR is great but...I got mine two days ago and couldn't wait to try them. I took them for a x-country today and for some reason the ANR feature kept shutting off like every ten minutes. I'm not sure if it's a product defect or maybe I should try a different set of batteries (I used a fresh set of alkalines). Either way I'll try new batteries next time and we'll see.
