I wanted the I Pad in to be right in front of me, but was concerned about the tablet blocking the view of the panel. This mount allowed me to connect to the yoke and "drape" the clip in front of the yoke, and the whole panel is visible. Nice!October 11, 2017Purchased

2 months agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesUse it for my iPad Pro.The Ram Claw Yoke Mount is perfect for the C172 that I'm training in. I actually use it upside down, so the iPad sits lower on the yolk. The 172 I fly has the Garmin G1000 panel and the iPad does not block the OFF. I also have to deal with a clip mounted on the top of the yolk to hold checklists and such, but the Claw can be manipulated to get around it. The only difference is that the iPad now sits a little right of center. No problem. I would recommend this item to anybody looking for a method to mount their iPad in the plane, especially if it is not your plane. It goes on and off wuickly.August 22, 2017Purchased

The 9.7 ipad is just too big but the mount itself is great, just be ready for you screen protector to get abused.July 15, 2017Purchased

I received the product, and on my next schedule flying lesson, arrived at the school, preflighted the plane and then attempted to install/attach the Ram to the yoke. after its attached, what you notice is line of sight to the tachometer is completely blocked.now you can(after manually loosening the wing nut) is rotate the RAM sideways but you still have limited line of site to the tachometer. now unless you have fairly refined auditory acuity(and can listen to the engine RPM and know what RPM level you are)and I do not, you need line of site to the tach. you can see the "6 pack" but line of site to the tach is, for all practical purposes, blocked.December 11, 2016

Only the Warrior III with the Avidyne glass cockpit had no problems with blocking any instruments, because there aren't any on the lower panel. There will always be something you can't see without looking around the iPad since panel space is at a premium, but it's not a big problem.
To test what you'll be able to see before you buy, sit in your normal position as you would when flying, anything that you look at between the yoke arms will be blocked from view. That will be a limitation of any yoke mount. Or just hold up your iPad in front of the yoke to see what it blocks. Is it easy to attach on and off?
