I've used a couple of different loaners; the difference is night and day. I was worried after doing tons of research and seeing comments about clamping force (7 5/8 hat size) or being a couple of ounces heavier than more expensive headsets, etc. That was all for naught because these DCs are extremely comfortable. I recommend every student get a set of these early in your training. I bought these right after solo. It's probably my imagination, but I swear the controllers in my home Class C airspace treated me better the first flight I donned these because I sounded so much clearer without the background noise. One time while wearing an old set (not DCs), a controller told me I sounded like I was in a tin can. Now it sounds like I'm on a landline instead of on a walkie talkie. My instructor recommended the Fabric Ear Cushions and I'm glad I got them. It's hot here and the cushions help with the sweat. Overall, these DC's are great and I am SOOO happy I bought them. |
