Much better than smaller testers

Big enough to test fuel from all 13 ports of a Cessna 172, all at once, so the fuel can be poured back into the tank with just one climb to the top of the wing. With smaller testers, I had to climb to the top of the wing three times, and with test-tube shaped testers, I had to pour the fuel on the ground, because it couldn't be balanced while I climbed up. This tester has a flat bottom and can be placed in front of the windscreen while I climb up.

I haven't used it yet but it looks pretty good. I do recommend getting the larger size to get a better sample size.

The construction and materials used in the GATS jar are great. I've been using GATS jars for several years and have never had one break. The 16 oz. size is useful especially when sumping 13 locations on the aircraft. The size is also helpful if water is found in the tanks and must be sumped out (less trips back and forth from sumping and dumping fuel)

I've dropped the GATS jar many times (not on purpose) throughout the years and it still works fine. Never had any part of it break or crack.

GATS Jar Fuel Tester

Good size bottle for holding fuel. Strainer works very well to keep water and contaminants out of fuel as you pour contents back into tank.

Bottle is a little thin. The bottle will collapse if you squeeze to hard. Needs to be a thicker material, but it is light weight.

Should last awhile if users are handle with a little care.

I love not poluting the environment and I especially love not throwing money away.

Lightweight and easy to use. Has a substantial tank and can therefore sample multiple sumps without having to dump fuel in between samples.

The collection jar was a soft plastic, unlike other GATS jars that I've used which have a harder collection jar. It will be interesting to see how durable this product turns out to be.

The product works as I expected it to. It is a fair value and I am satisfied with this product.

Easy to use and re-cycle fuel a must for our area where fuel can not be dumped on the ground.

I watch over 8 airplanes that all use the jars. I have to replace one or two jars a year because the pin breaks or the jar cracks.

I have lost track of when they changed the design but there is an insert pin that can be replaced when it breaks instead of the whole jar.

Works as intended. I like the capacity. The container is made from a flexible plastic and I think this would last a long time.

Take your time pouring fuel back in during windy days. This doesn't have a pour spout. Also, it would be nice if it had a base. Once I sat it on the cowl full of fuel and a wind blew it over and it spilled fuel everywhere.

I'd buy another one if mine went lost.

Very easy to see dirt, water, and color of fuel. I can get a larger sample before draining back into the tank. Saves fuel.

Make sure the O ring seal is in the correct place.

Environmentally friendly way to do fuel sampling. 16 oz. jar provides a great way to pull a large sample without wasting fuel. Works with both types of fuel sample sites (I use one for both my Cessna 172SP and a Diamond DA40). Fits into the aircrafts cup holders.

None - would by nice if the top of the spout was funnel shaped and could be pushed up to the skin of the aircraft - if the wind is blowing hard, you get some spillage - but it's manageable.

Have purchased 2 jars before and decided to go with the larger jar this time.

Good high-volume jar gives a nice big sample, easy to examine, for that added measure of confidence that your fuel is good. I also like the dual functions of the strainer for reintroducing fuel into your tanks and checking for jet fuel contamination of your avgas at the same time.
