ProsCalibration seems to be dead on for the 26.5 Gal tanks on the Skyhawk. It has been surprisingly durable.
General CommentsThe gauge has been accidentally dropped and rolled off the wing of a 172. It still works accurately without a scratch, fracture, or break.

 Works like a charm. Cons Should come with a wrist loop to keep it from falling into the tank. I had to make one myself. Handy to have when filling tanks less than full due to carrying passengers, but it should come with a wrist safety strap. |

Made of strong, clear plastic so it should last for years. ConsNone so far, but I'm very careful not to drop it into the tank. General CommentsThis little tester makes it easy to know just how much fuel you have. Of course, I still play it safe and round down, but I haven't seen any discrepancies yet. You need to make sure you dip each tank twice because you could be resting the tester on a raised section of the tank. So, I check in two different locations and use the largest number (because the tester went deeper that time). I will probably attach a zip tie or something to hold on to just to make sure the tester does not fall into the tank. It's very handy and worth the price. |
