I love my new {style} E6B but am less than impressed with IFR/DVD Course I just bought from you this month.

I am only 3/4 way through disk 3 and so far the disks are old, 2009 & 2010, kind of odd since FAA/FARs change yearly, but, other complaints are that in disk 3 for example, he talks about Decent Rates of 318 feet per mile yet chart on screen display reads 318 feet per minute. This little blooper leaves me wondering about quality of knowledge the producers have as I really need to learn this.

Biggest complaints so far are that the Closed Captioning blocks the video words and they cannot be read much of time on all previous disks and what is covered is what is being discussed and I feel it is important but I can't read it. Also, test questions are asked not even close to the covered material, so some guessing is involved.

I had purchased Private Pilot Course in VHS twenty and a half years ago when I went to college Flight School in Nebraska and it was done much better.
I'll know other discreptions when I finish the course. Of course I will be re-watching them many more times anyway as I am starting the dual after Christmas and hope to have a somewhat better grasp of the information. Not trying to ruin Christmas, just letting you know this DVD set is not close to your best work.

Replay lessons immediately after quizes. No lag in getting back to a question that I did not understand. I have two text books and in combination with the CD's, my learning is accelerating.
The lessons are arranged so I can study one area at a time and on my own pace.

    Pros

Good information, really helped me with understanding approaches, navigation, and charts. Some of the information seemed like a review from my private training, such as weather. The online study buddy was a help.

    Cons

Moved a bit fast and got confused at some points. I had to constantly rewind a bit to understand. As for the study buddy, it was helpful but on the practice tests they seemed to use the same exact questions over and over again. On my actual exam I was asked about 10 questions about icing I never saw. Still passed with an 82!

    General Comments

Great product, glad I bought it. Easy way to get your instrument written endorsement. DVD's tend to slide out of their protective sleeve inside the container.

Easy to use - at least so far; I'm on Vol 2. Keeps me engaged and well-done.

    Cons

Quiz questions - some seem to come from nowhere. While the question is applicable, the material was not covered in the segment. I was expected printed material too, like the picture in the catalog but that was not the case. Customer service told me to go on-line and print PTS and Syllabus.

    Well Done and Modern Video!!
    Pros

DVDs are divided up into nice segment and stored in a binder with the booklet. convenient and stores easily
addresses NACO & Jepp Charts, modern GPS nav et cetera.
Videos are relatively current (unlike the Jeppsen & King videos that seem they were produced just after the invention of color TV)
