    Excellent Content...
    Pros

Excellent Content and well presented. This product will not only be great for getting my instrument rating, but also as a refresher from time to time.

    Cons

It would be nice if the test questions on the disks changed each time you took the test to make it more challenging.

    Pros

The DVD format helps point things out visually, as expected. It allows for movements / changes to be displayed simultaneously.
The binder and organization of the physical materials is excellent.

    Cons

The organization / presentation of the teaching materials could be improved to make the learning process more efficient. It seems to be geared more towards teaching a few questions than it does giving depth to the subject matter at hand. I am only on DVD 3 so far, so that may be a part of my problem: more might show up later to make what I have learned so far better / more easily understood. The hard part now is having to watch things several times to truly understand what I will be seeing in the cockpit.
The best example I can give now is the instrument approach: they give a lot of data from many different airports all at once. Personally, I would learn faster if they chose 1 airport and go into every detail about that airport, including showing from a video representation what is meant by the lines and other symbols. Then, pick a different airport with a different type of approach, and go into every detail about that airport (what is similar to the first airport can be gone over very quickly). Find a third airport for a third different type of approach, go into detail, but move over previously covered material quickly. Then, if all of the major issues are covered, moving on to several different airports can be done quickly.

    General Comments

I am doing the ground training on my own, and am asking questions of my instructor when things don't make sense. We did a few missed approaches so I could finally understand what the DVD was saying the lines meant.

    Instrument Rating Course
    Pros

The videos are very good and the instruction is clear. It is great to be able to review multiple times to allow for repetition.

    Cons

The screens are not printable so when there is something written on a screen you have to pause it and write it down. Also, the quizzes ask questions on material that was not necessarily covered in the preceding video segments.

A must have to compliment book material
    Pros

Nice lay-out of material, easy to manage going through course. Everything is explained in its simple form thus making it easy to understand.

    Cons

A bit fast getting each subject, but I suppose the rewind button helps with this.

    General Comments

A great compliment to the material covered in the books. Great value, and truly pays itself off with the money you'll save on ground instruction. Will highly recommend

I'm just getting back into my instrument flying. This was a great review for me of all the things I didn't get when I first got my instrument rating in 1982 and didn't have any GPS navigator experience. For someone who hasn't used their skills in a while this is a great addition to your flying library.

    Pros

content is pretty clear and descriptive

    Cons

when you are taking to two "tests" to pass with an 80% in order to get your "sign off"...most of the question have a diagram, chart, map etc. as a reference...in order to view this info. you have to leave the question...download the chart (while remembering what the question is) view the chart and then go back to the question to provide an answer...sometimes the downloads are very large and take a while to download...other times the download is sideways and larger than the page so you have to scroll while reading with your head cocked sideways....many times the computer "locked up" while downloading and you lost the whole test.....it would be much easier for the user if they sent a copy of these references with the course (even if it were just copies stapled together). they do give you an option of downloading the entire package but when i attempted to do this (even though i have a fast computer) after twenty minutes it had barely downloaded 20%... REMEMBER...you have to pass TWO tests in order to get your sign off to take the faa exam!!

    General Comments

ordering was easy...delivery was timely...presentations are good..after receiving this material and going through it entirely....i went to american flyers and downloaded their "on-line" program (only $75.00) and found it to be much more concise and much easier to get from question to reference and back to question...i used the american flyers course as my primary study source for my test preparation...
