    Great training aid!
    Pros

Great video quality, and is both computer and TV compatible. Good cross section of aircraft represented. Better than a competitive CD set which attempts to be 'humorous' in places.

    Cons

No written materials included. The pace is pretty quick and one needs to view several times, which isn't all that bad...

    Great Supplimental Knowledge.
    Pros

Presented in a way which provided quick learning and stimulating information.

Able to replay segments as many times as you would prefer.

    Cons

Some subjects seem as though they were glossed over, or given a little too quickly to absorb the first... or second time they werre watched.

Seemed like they were really pushing Garmin products.

    General Comments

Overall I would say this is a great learning tool. The $200 price tag is kinda a kick in the pants, but really does come in usefull as supplimental information. I paired watching the DVDs with the handbooks and havent had any issues.

Being able to review any chapter at the click of a button really is handy

And AirFacts?? Who doesnt like those!?

But seriously, I contemplated buying this product for a while before I actually did. Im glad i did, as it really did come in useful. Was it what I was expecting? Im not really sure what I was expecting, but needless to say, being able to watch certain subjects as many times as you would like is a very nice thing. Especially on those IMC days when VFR just wont cut the mustard. Sit on the couch and educate yourself.

Remember a good pilot flys well, a great pilot is always learning.

    Sporty's Instrument Rating Course
    Pros

The information presented is accurate and up to date.

    Cons

The information is given in such a way as to flood you with the facts without giving you a chance to absorb which facts need to be learned. The DVD's need to be viewed many times to get the proper information out of them to pass your test.

Good Value for Instrument ground school
    Pros

DVD's can be watched on a TV instead of just a computer. No cheesy jokes that can be seen on other training programs. Cost is relatively low compared to other companies providing instrument training DVD's

    Cons

PTS study guide is no longer on paper, to some this can be a pro but just my preference to have a paperback PTS study guide and syllabus.

Everything is clear and presented with a minimum of fuss.

    Cons

I feel like the information has been coming at me, but the structure isn't the same as what I had expected.

    General Comments

20 years ago, I sat with my Dad as he used the King VHS tapes to study for his IFR written. I remember the format well, and they make it really clear. Teach a subject, then go over it twice again as a problem on a test.

While that may seem monotonous, you KNOW you're getting the exposure that you need. With this course, it's not quite as clear.

We'll see how I do on the written. I may live to regret saving the $100.00.

I love my new {style} E6B but am less than impressed with IFR/DVD Course I just bought from you this month.

I am only 3/4 way through disk 3 and so far the disks are old, 2009 & 2010, kind of odd since FAA/FARs change yearly, but, other complaints are that in disk 3 for example, he talks about Decent Rates of 318 feet per mile yet chart on screen display reads 318 feet per minute. This little blooper leaves me wondering about quality of knowledge the producers have as I really need to learn this.

Biggest complaints so far are that the Closed Captioning blocks the video words and they cannot be read much of time on all previous disks and what is covered is what is being discussed and I feel it is important but I can't read it. Also, test questions are asked not even close to the covered material, so some guessing is involved.

I had purchased Private Pilot Course in VHS twenty and a half years ago when I went to college Flight School in Nebraska and it was done much better.
I'll know other discreptions when I finish the course. Of course I will be re-watching them many more times anyway as I am starting the dual after Christmas and hope to have a somewhat better grasp of the information. Not trying to ruin Christmas, just letting you know this DVD set is not close to your best work.
