The uniquely delta designed Concorde airliner first took to the skies on March 2nd of 1969. Only 20 Concorde turbo jets were produced and in their 27 years of service, they cumulatively racked up over one million flight hours. The Concorde was at home 60,000 feet above planet earth and had an average cruise speed of Mach 2.02 or 1,330 miles per hour. These days a time machine is required to see one of these majestic birds in the sky, but even though they’re gone, they’re not forgotten.
