Ideal for glass cockpit training!

When learning to use sophisticated glass cockpits or a new panel GPS, there’s no substitute for sitting in the airplane and twisting knobs. Our power supply, available at an exceptional price, makes it easy to do without draining the battery. Simply plug it into the wall, then plug the other cord into the external power outlet in your airplane. The power supply provides consistent, regulated power to the airplane, so you can spend as much time as needed in the cockpit. Also handy for database updates and avionics maintenance.

In addition to being a power supply, this compact unit also functions as a long-term battery maintainer to keep your battery topped off in between flights - just plug in and walk away. Comes complete with standard 3-pin GPU plug for short term use (may require master switch to be on), plus battery terminal clips for long term battery charging. Made in USA and proven by daily use in our own avionics shop.

Features:

  • Great for avionics or glass cockpit training
  • Low weight—over 70% less than competitive units—means you can keep it in your airplane
  • Never ask for a jump again—find a 110V outlet and our power supply will recharge your battery
  • Available in 24V or 12V models; provides 20 amps of power
  • Also includes battery clips for long-term battery charging

If I understand correctly, if you plug this unit into the GPU (external power) connector, it will power the avionics but not charge the battery. If you want to charge the battery, you need to access the battery terminals and connect the unit to the battery directly with the supplied clips. Is my understanding correct? If this is aircraft specific, please use a Diamond DA40 as the reference.
