Add the duct height to the dimensions
Fits in the baggage compartmentment of my 210 BUT you can’t fit the air duct on top. It hits the roof. The duct adds 14.5” to the height when bent as an ell. I wish I would have know the exact added height of the duct when ordering. It’s an oddball size duct, so getting an ell for the outlet is impossible. I had to put it in the backseat. It takes up all of one seat and part of the other seat. It would be much easier in the luggage compartment. It’s a fight to get it in the backseat with ice in it. It works well, it’s simply, and seems to be built okay. I wish I had the height dimension with the duct installed and would have purchased a shorter one instead. I am happy with the unit and the performance. It really does knock the heat down on these 100 degree days and looks good too.

Really Cranks Out Cold Air
This was an awesome addition to our hot summer flying. We put 40 pounds of ice in the chest and it lasts about four hours or so with the pump and fan running. I can't imagine flying without it anymore in the 182. Fits nicely in back baggage area but had to purchase the extension cable for the cable to reach all the way back. My only complaint is the price but it is built very solidly. A friend as a version he built himself but complains his cheap model puts a lot of humidity in the cockpit. This one does not.

A little expensive but I believe it will be worth the investment
I put the unit in the baggage compartment of my Skyhawk Although it was not extremely warm I had good air circulation in the cabin I think it will be worth the money for my low VFR flights this summer

What are the dimensions? What is the cooling time on high (3hrs on low according to the video)? What is the temp reduction on low (35* on high according to the video)?
A shopper on Apr 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the large cooler after hot weather last year so I do not have experience from using it yet. The dimensions allow it to fit in the rear seat of my Cessna 177RG and I have high expectations that my wife will not quit flying with me in the hot summer time in Texas because of the ArcticAir unit.
Can I use dry ice?
A shopper on Oct 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide, which sublimates directly from a solid to a gas—without going though the liquid phase—in our range of atmospheric pressures. CO2 is not directly toxic, but in a closed cockpit would displace the oxygen content, which is not a good idea as the partial pressure of breathable O2 decreases with altitude.
can it be used a Cessna 150?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 52 at size is pretty big for a 150. But if it will fit it will work. The advantage of the larger size would be longer duration cooling, not cooler temps.
We are looking into this unit for a church bus (full-size school bus). Which unit would be best?
Shellie H on Aug 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would not recommend this unit as it would not cool that amount of space.
