Great product, especially for the price!
Super easy to use and no problems connecting to my iPad, it just takes it a couple of minutes to lock onto satellites.

Pros: Product performed better than advertised. The bluetooth functionality is seamless along with datalogging. I used the device on foot one day for about five hours and then the next for three in a Boeing 757 and barely put a dent in the battery and internal memory. I was testing the device from San Juan, PR to Miami, FL and had WAAS accuracy of ten feet almost the entire flight at my window seat at FL400 at 450kt groundspeed. I observed the approach into Miami using AOPA FlyQ EFB and appeared to be dead on target. Cons: None noted yet. Solid build and easy to use and monitor.

Pros: Small, very easy to use, quickly grabs satellites, long power time- used for 6 hour flight with lots of power remaining Cons: USB cover doesn't stay closed. Exceptionally easy to use with Foreflight PRO and iPad, cockpit is organized and clean, no more paper charts!

I purchased this to go with an ipad for flight school for my son. He really likes it and said the other students will see 'Elf Pro' and want one as well! Tried it in the car as well!

Too soon to tell
I only got this unit a week or so ago. I have flown with it twice, and it has preformed flawlessly. If you want a good report, you should ask after I have had it a while, and had a chance to see if it has any problems.

Works perfectly
This little GPS is perfect for what I use it for; driving the maps on my iPad in the airplane, motorhome, and out in the desert on the side by side. I used the Maps.me freebie app and Foreflight, and they seem happy with the data. The Bluetooth connectivity is a big improvement over the older 30-pin iPad version from a couple of years back. No wires, and it connects multiple devices at once. It locks on almost instantly, and I have yet to lose signal to where position was degraded or lost. Battery life seems to be as advertised, and recharging is basic plug into any power source that's handy.

Pros: Works as advertised with no thought setup! Unit is able to receive GPS signal without being placed on the dash. I have had good luck with unit in the copilot side pocket. Excellent battery life = as promised Not enough experience to comment on durability and reliability. Appears well built.

Does it work with google maps or the mapping program on an iPad 6plus?
BobWorrall on Jul 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Bob. I have an iPad Air with 64 GB of RAM that I purchased in late 2015. The Bad Elf Pro I purchased seems to work fine with the mapping applications on my iPad. I tested this by first turning off the "Location Services" in the "Privacy" tab. Then, I opened a map application to verify that no position information was available. I then turned on my Bad Elf Pro GPS receiver. It nearly immediately linked with the iPad and in a few seconds, my position was annotated on the map application. While I can't specifically speak for using an iPad 6+, the Bad Elf Pro works just fine with the iPad Air 64 GB. I'd suggest that you contact the folks at Bad Elf to see if they can answer your "6+" question. I'd send you the link to them, but the "fine print" in this site prohibits me from doing that. You should be able to find them simply by "googling" them. Good luck.
Does this unit have a barometric sensor for altitude?
A shopper on Sep 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I suspect not. I've read through the instructional material, and labeling on the box. I do not see anything that indicates this GPS receiver measures "barometric" altitude. The box does show that the Bad Elf II is "accurate to 8 ft (2.5 m). I don't know what your application requirement is, but for aviation purposes, this is certainly sufficient.
Will this work with my marine apps. On an iPad Pro? Thought my iPad was gps enabled but apparently with an *.
A shopper on May 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It will depend on the app. I would go to www.badelf.com and check to see if the app is listed. I would expect that it should work.

Does this unit work with Android phones and pc's?
A shopper on Oct 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Since I'm an Apple user, I couldn't immediately provide you an answer, but first referenced the user manual that came with my Bad Elf II. According to the documentation that comes with this device, it'll only work with Apple devices (I know, "bummer" for you!). This site won't permit me to forward you the Bad Elf support email address. However, I'd bet you can find that information on-line, by "googling" Bad Elf II.
