I have also been flying with the Bose in-ear ProFlight set. The A20 is hands down the best sounding, most quiet, over-ear headset I have ever used. I literally cannot hear my engines running on the ground and have to partly remove one ear-phone when taxiing. Sound quality in the air is amazing - for the fist time in 12 years I can talk in a quiet conversational voice and ATC always hears me perfectly. Game changer.I have yet to try in my Cirrus where I have the older Bose X's, but I expect similar results. Only reason I give 4 starts on durability and reliability is I don't have much data yet. Value is 4 since they are very expensive, although absolutely worth it. You really don't know how badly noise and bad headsets affect your communications, stress levels and general fatigue until they are taken out of the equation.May 17, 2019Purchased

3 weeks agoDurability4 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesWorth It!I’ve done one flight on these. The positives are the sound clarity is excellent, the Bluetooth works great, very comfortable, quick size adjustment, and is easy to adjust volume and music in flight. The negatives are almost negligible there’s some exposed wires on the inside of the headband unlike some of there other none aviation headsets you don’t see them when it’s on though and hopefully the head pad Velcro holds up there’s not much holding it on but maybe there doesn’t need to be. They come with a really nice case and heavy duty cord shirt clips. I’ve never had an issue with anything Bose. There’s a noticeable improvement in ANR and clarity from my other ANR headset.First A20 flightMay 2, 2019Purchased

1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesExpensive but Worth It!I am a student pilot whom initially purchased a cheap headset off of Amazon. Nothing against the cheap headset, it did its job for 2 way radio communication just fine but there was always something missing. I was always reluctant to try the Bose A20 as it is super expensive and it was always sitting in my cart. After a long training session with the cheap headset, which gave me a headache from possible the head clamping, I decided to pull the trigger and get the Bose. Wow! was my first reaction when contacting ground at 1000 RPM. The noise cancelling was a luxury I was missing out on. Contacting Departure during the climb was night and day in comparison to the old headset. I could hear myself clear and the controller clearer too, allowing me to get the frequencies and instructions the first time around. With all the stress that a student has to go through with cockpit management, 2 way comms should not be one of them. Bose is the way to go! If you can't afford them right off the bat, save up for them. You wont regret it. Let your bank account do the regretting :)April 22, 2019Purchased

The bose headset it has the normal comm chord that connectinto your airplane. The bluetooth is to your iPhone or iPad. So the blue tooth fantastic for listening to music on your phone. And if you need to call in for a clearance you can do it with your phone and hear it all in your headset.
The only thing i might say is to think hard if you want the typical two pin plugs connections. In which case the noise cancellation on off switch runs off batteries. You have to change them about every 10 hours or so. Or if your plane has the one pin option for your headset,(the round six pen) , it will supply power to the headset and you needn't worry about batteries ever. As soon as you push the noise cancellation button and the drone of the engine goes away, you will forget you paid a grand for these! Fly safe. How tight are these headsets? I am a petite person but find that most of the discomfort from headsets is how tight they press against your head and subsequently, against what i would assume is my glands under my ear right behind my jaw. After a while, ugh! Does anyone have any experience with changing to Bose to relieve that pressure or recommend another brand altogether?BEST ANSWER: Andi,
I have owned and used a variety of headsets over the years. I purchased a two Bose A20's last July. They are very comfortable. I understand the "pinching" problem that can occur with other headsets and I feel that this is completely a non-issue with the Bose A20's. I flew 24 hours in March of this year, including several flights greater than 4 hours in duration. I used the A20 exclusively and had nothing but excellent results. What is the difference between the straight cord and the coil cord and which is preferred? Any feedback, particularly on the Bose 20?BEST ANSWER: I wear state of the art hearing aids when I fly, and I can tell you, the Bose A20 works beautifully with them, unlike the David Clark ENC I used to wear. Any ideas?BEST ANSWER: I've flown with these in a C-172S and had no issues hearing the stall horn with the ANR turned on. ANR does not cancel the frequency emitted by a stall horn, and the stall horn should have more than sufficient volume to overcome the passive noise reduction of the ear cups.Isn't that Amelia Earhart in the picture?
