I use them several times a week for flight training in a Piper Cherokee PA-28-140. Very comfortable (I forget they are on) with good sounds, reliable mic and noise reduction is awesome. Love 'em!November 15, 2018Purchased

Pretty annoying when climbing or doing stall maneuvers, and you loose ANR.November 13, 2018Purchased

2 weeks agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesOutstanding quality and noise reductionI’ve owned many headsets over my 30 plus year career in aviation. For general aviation piston aircraft, this is the very best I’ve ever used. They are comfortable and super quiet. They are not lightweight, but the quality of the audio, outstanding noise reduction, and comfort of the headset was great on a long day in the airplane. I usually wear earplugs with my old headsets to ward off tinnitus, but not with this one as the noise reduction is that good. They also seem very durable. My only wish was the headset stored in a smaller footprint. The bags they come in are large to accommodate the size of the headset and how it stows, protecting it very well. We end up carrying the headset separate from our flight bag, a small compromise for the superior audio quality and hearing protection.November 6, 2018Purchased
3 weeks agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesLove it, just like everyone else.I love this headset. The only problem is... You don't want to fly with anything else after you get one! I bought two and would have ordered two more if they weren't so high. I guess the backseat passengers will have to suffer with the trainer headsets. Sound quality is unmatched. Batteries last well. You have plenty of warning when you need to change them so they don't surprise you. Come on Bose, cut us some slack when we want to buy four sets!!!November 5, 2018Purchased
1 year agoDurability4 / 5Reliability4 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?Yeshighly recommendedthe difference between my old headset and the Bose A20 was so substantial I had to give the airspeed indicator a lot more attention as I am used to keying on the wind and the engine noise to tell my speed but there was almost none of that.
Amazing technology.October 23, 2018Purchased
1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesPhenomenal headsetExpensive? Yes. But worth the money. I had been using a Telex headset for quite a while and recently switched to these after buying a pair of Bose headphones (QC35). I was very impressed by the ANR with those and decided to give the A20 a shot. And they did not disappoint. The ANR makes a HUGE difference in flight and, even though I knew it was coming, it's still a surprise how quiet the cockpit becomes when you turn these on. Even more importantly is just how comfortable these are. Compared to the Telex, these are night and day in terms of comfort and I could easily wear these all day without complaint. They're light, well-balanced, and seem to barely clamp your head. The long battery life is a serious plus and, even with sunglasses on, the ear pieces are able to seal out the sound and stay comfortable. If you're on the fence with idea of spending the money on a quality pair of headsets, I can tell you that you won't regret this purchase.October 16, 2018Purchased
1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesThe best, but you gotta pay for it.Bose sound quality and very comfortable. Just one complaint, if the batteries fail in flight, the base sound proofing is really poor. I had the batteries die during flight once, and it was LOUD! Always always always have spare batteries for this!October 12, 2018Purchased

The bose headset it has the normal comm chord that connectinto your airplane. The bluetooth is to your iPhone or iPad. So the blue tooth fantastic for listening to music on your phone. And if you need to call in for a clearance you can do it with your phone and hear it all in your headset.
The only thing i might say is to think hard if you want the typical two pin plugs connections. In which case the noise cancellation on off switch runs off batteries. You have to change them about every 10 hours or so. Or if your plane has the one pin option for your headset,(the round six pen) , it will supply power to the headset and you needn't worry about batteries ever. As soon as you push the noise cancellation button and the drone of the engine goes away, you will forget you paid a grand for these! Fly safe. What is the difference between the straight cord and the coil cord and which is preferred? ThanksBEST ANSWER: Straight cord is the standard for airplanes; coil cord is typically used for helicopters. It's really personal preference, depending somewhat on how far it is from your headset jack to the pilot seat. How tight are these headsets? I am a petite person but find that most of the discomfort from headsets is how tight they press against your head and subsequently, against what i would assume is my glands under my ear right behind my jaw. After a while, ugh! Does anyone have any experience with changing to Bose to relieve that pressure or recommend another brand altogether?BEST ANSWER: Andi,
I have owned and used a variety of headsets over the years. I purchased a two Bose A20's last July. They are very comfortable. I understand the "pinching" problem that can occur with other headsets and I feel that this is completely a non-issue with the Bose A20's. I flew 24 hours in March of this year, including several flights greater than 4 hours in duration. I used the A20 exclusively and had nothing but excellent results.Does the headset work when the batteries die?BEST ANSWER: If you let the AA batteries full deplete, the Bose A20 will still continue to function as a normal passive noise attenuation headset. I expect Bose is being overly cautious regarding the possibilities of fire with rechargeable batteries. A legitimate concern, but probably not a major one.I can't hear the stall horn in a Cessna 172 with these head phones. Any ideas?BEST ANSWER: I've flown with these in a C-172S and had no issues hearing the stall horn with the ANR turned on. ANR does not cancel the frequency emitted by a stall horn, and the stall horn should have more than sufficient volume to overcome the passive noise reduction of the ear cups.I am looking for a headset that works well with state of the art hearing aides. Any feedback, particularly on the Bose 20?BEST ANSWER: My CFI has serious hearing loss and requires hearing aids. The A20’s are the only headsets he can wear with them on. The company’s ANR headsets we are issued are light and comfortable, but the mic does not swivel 180 degrees to accommodate switching sides - which is an annoyance, especially draping the cord across your lap or behind you. Do these boom mics swivel so you can swap sides - or do you have to remove and physically swap the mic from one side to the other? Removing and swapping the mic from left to right would likely be a pain every day - unless it’s designed for an easy swap. Furthermore, I would imagine it would eventually wear and break unless it was specifically designed to do this frequently. Is this addressed in the Bose design, or is the mic only designed to be swapped out infrequently?BEST ANSWER: You would need to physically switch sides.Does radio have to be a certain type

And if i pick an airbus plug with transform to a twin plug i need the batteri powered type or aircraft powered? Thanks.BEST ANSWER: I would choose the connection that you use most frequently.
