4 weeks agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesBelieve the HypeThis headset, in my opinion, is the best ANR general aviation headset out there. This is my second one, not because the first one broke, but because I wanted the newest version. The audio is clear and the noise reduction is amazing. Yes, it is a substantial investment, but worth every penny. This is the headset that all other headsets aspire to be.When I bought the first one, I had a friend who worked in the entertainment industry. He did a lot of work with many major brands of audio equipment, including Bose, for big concerts. He always had these great discounts and deals from the manufacturers because they wanted him to recommend their equipment to the major entertainers. You would know them if I mentioned names, but I won’t. I asked him if maybe he could get me a deal on this headset. He promptly said to me “you know, the only manufacturer that I can’t get any special discounts from is Bose, simply because they know how good their equipment is.” That says it all.February 25, 2019Purchased

1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesBest Audio & Quiet ANRExcellent Audio. Crisp communication with ATC. I’ve tried many other headsets in my career, and A20 is still the quietest and clearest sounding headset. Should be required equipment on loud airplanes. I fly the A321 and it’s very loud for a jet...the BOSE A20 takes care of that. However, the headset picks up a significant “hum” from the electric windshield heat, which can be annoying when the radios are silent. I’ve experienced this “humming tone” on other headsets as well, so I think it may be more of an airplane problem. But it would be nice if BOSE could figure out how to shield from this type of interference. Overall, highly recommended. It’s worth lugging around. Just get a hard case for it and throw it in a suitcase.February 17, 2019Purchased

Best way to experience the noise reduction is to start the plane with it off (because you forgot) and then have your instructor ask you if you turned them on. They are also very comfortable. You don’t even realize you have them on.February 17, 2019Purchased

The only thing i might say is to think hard if you want the typical two pin plugs connections. In which case the noise cancellation on off switch runs off batteries. You have to change them about every 10 hours or so. Or if your plane has the one pin option for your headset,(the round six pen) , it will supply power to the headset and you needn't worry about batteries ever. As soon as you push the noise cancellation button and the drone of the engine goes away, you will forget you paid a grand for these! Fly safe. How tight are these headsets? I am a petite person but find that most of the discomfort from headsets is how tight they press against your head and subsequently, against what i would assume is my glands under my ear right behind my jaw. After a while, ugh! Does anyone have any experience with changing to Bose to relieve that pressure or recommend another brand altogether?BEST ANSWER: Andi,
I have owned and used a variety of headsets over the years. I purchased a two Bose A20's last July. They are very comfortable. I understand the "pinching" problem that can occur with other headsets and I feel that this is completely a non-issue with the Bose A20's. I flew 24 hours in March of this year, including several flights greater than 4 hours in duration. I used the A20 exclusively and had nothing but excellent results. What is the difference between the straight cord and the coil cord and which is preferred? Any ideas?BEST ANSWER: I've flown with these in a C-172S and had no issues hearing the stall horn with the ANR turned on.
