Helped me save a lot of time during my flight planning. Would prefer bigger, bolder numbers but other than that it is perfect.- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Would You Recommend?YesBatteries are not included!I suggest you include the batteries with this product, it is very inconvenient for the customers to receive the calculator and then realize it needs batteries. This is a $70 product, batteries are cheap, think about your customer's satisfaction!- Was this review helpful? Yes (2) No (2)

Durability1 / 5Reliability2 / 5Performance3 / 5Ease Of Use2 / 5Value2 / 5Would You Recommend?YesIt will get you through the written, but not a reliable back up.Purchased one in 2013 for the written. The buttons required you to push pretty hard to get the information to enter. Felt cheap for the price. I had to make sure every entry went into each section. That required me to look at the E6B when entering numbers. DO NOT TAKE ENTRIES FOR GRANTED. Double check them. That added a little extra stress to the test. I did pass, so kudos to it. The E6B will get you through the written test.
I took very good care of it. I always took the batteries out of it when not in use. I just put some batteries into the E6B and now it does not work. I did test the batteries and they were good. My E6B is just past its 5 year warranty. I guess I can forget it as a reliable back up.- Was this review helpful? Yes (1) No (0)

Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesE6B Flight ComputerI purchased this E6B Flight computer as a replacement from a very old one I have when I started flying, that is over 25 years old for my grandson who is learning to fly. Very easy to read and certainly is an improvement over my old one!- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesThe E6B is easy to use and Sportys does a good job of Shipping fast I would recommend To get Sporty's E6B for all pilots but I would also recommend also getting a wiz wheel so if you run out of battery life you can use the wiz Wheel. I Love the electronic E6B it does the work fast.- Was this review helpful? Yes (1) No (0)

Durability4 / 5Reliability2 / 5Performance2 / 5Ease Of Use1 / 5Value2 / 5Would You Recommend?NoHard to readThese devices are indispensible and the manual E6B is just too tedious to use (I gave up my slide rule 40 years ago). The problem with the Sporty's device is that the screen is hard to read. Though backlit, it is old display tech. It is hardd enough to read on the ground when doing your flight planning, but doing on-the-fly calculations in flight is all but impossible.
Can't comment on reliability and durability yet... if I keep it.- Was this review helpful? Yes (2) No (1)

Hi, just wondering what WCA stands for on the display. I couldn't find it in the instruction manual. What does it stand for, or where can I find it? Thanks for your help.BEST ANSWER: WCA stands for wind correction angle. It will be a positive or negative number, add or subtract this number from the magnetic course to get your magnetic heading. After that, add or subtract the magnetic deviation to get the course heading that you should steer on your compass.- Reply

how does the sportys e6b compare to the asa new cx3?Sporty's Electronic E6B Flight ComputerBEST ANSWER: In addition to what Eric C. provided, another really, REALLY cool feature is the ability to chose what type of unit you are inputting into that line for the calculation.
Say for example, you are provided two questions to calculate density altitude. One question provides the OAT in degrees Centigrade, the other in Fahrenheit. A simple button press of the "Set Unit" button will switch the type of unit for the input, and then do any required conversions in the background.
Another example is time. Say you were provided a question that says you fly for 26 minutes. Rather than going to calculator and doing 26 ÷ 60 to get the decimal time, just hit SET UNIT until minutes are shown on the far right, enter 26 and the orange square key to complete the input. The CX3 will do any required conversions in the background and compute the answer you're driving for.
Similar functional with the CONV UNIT key. If you put in that you are dealing with 40 gallons of fuel, but needed to know what it is in liters while remaining on the Fuel calculation page, just press CONV UNIT and it will compute the conversion on the fly without you leaving that page.- Reply(1)
