DC one X
I have woren the DC one X for countless hours; less clamping force than Boes or lightspeed and Great ANR preformince but the cable looks finicky. Poor/week headset case.

Great headset at a good price
Excellent headset! Lightweight, comfortable, with great active noise attenuation and the microphone might be the best in the industry. It is hard to say that a $899 headset is a bargain but this one certainly is.

Short term usage test
This headset is lighter than the David Clark passive that I use. Noise reduction is good and it is very comfortable. However, most of my flights are about 20 minutes, not sure if the comfort upgrade is worth the money. Noise reduction seems to change whne turning head in cockpit. DF

Great Product
After trying a Bose A20 (too quiet) and a Lightspeed (thought construction was not quite as rugged as I would have iiked), I decided to stick with David Clark and ordered their One-X. I have been using a DC passive headset for most of the past year flying a C-208 40+ hrs a month. I used a Sennheiser HMEC 46 when I was flying DC-10s and MD-11s before retiring. I like the Sennheiser but it fits on the ear and it not really suitable for the higher noise environment in the -208 and pistons I also fly. The One-X has the right balance of active noise cancelling and passive noise cancelling. I want to hear what the engine and prop are doing and the One-X is, in my opinion, superior to the Bose and Lightspeed. I like the small size of the One-X compared to the other headsets. If folded properly and stowed in the included bag, I have not seen an issue with the seals partially taking a "set" as some users have noted. The construction is typical David Clark ... rugged like my H10-13.4. I have worn the One-X for as long as 2.5 hrs at a time ... my typical day is 4 legs and around 7 hrs of flight time. The One-X is comfortable and does exactly what it was designed to do. I do think the question of "which one" comes down to a matter of personal preference. It is helpful, if possible, to "try before you buy." Sporty's 30 day trial offer and free shipping is hard to beat!I will update after a few months of use.

Outstanding comfort
I just was able to use it for the first time. 21 plus hours over 4 days and the comfort is outstanding. The noise reduction was excellent and that makes for a more comfortable experience overall.
It seems very well built as you would expect from a David Clark. It folds much smaller than any other headset I have ever used. The controller is easy to use. I think this is the best overall value in an Active Noise Cancelling headset. Highly recommended.

Great Headset for Airlines and GA
Fly the CRJ 4-5 days a week and do occasional flight instruction. They work great in the jet. I don't even use the ANR since the cockpit is quiet enough and save my batteries for the loud GA airplanes. They have great battery life and I like that they auto-shutoff when I forget. Very comfy for long periods of time and the bluetooth is also a nice creature comfort.

Almost a 5
I use this header every day. They are very comfortable and lightweight and the noise reduction is great. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because I have only had it a week and the “stereo/mono” switch has fallen out and my headset is permanently in stereo which means I can only hear out of the right ear. This shouldn’t happen. Be careful when using those switches.

Better than A20 for flight students.
I looked at buying the A20s but held a pair and they are practically all plastic. (Not good for a student getting in and out of a plane every day) I found the DC ONE-X and found out how durable they feel without sacrificing comfort, Bluetooth, and ANR like the A20s. These are the best headset on the market.

What does DSP do ? My problem is not noise but fuzzy audio.
William A on Aug 2, 2016
Will this work with the David Clark K10 helmet?
Brett N on Jul 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately it will not fit directly into the helmet. That being said it is only the headset earcup shape that prevents this from happening. If you are handy I don't believe it would be very difficult to add enough material such that the One-X would fit into the helmet.

I have a One-X that I love, and I keep a H10-13X in my K10 helmet for flights I need the helmet.
Would you recommend this over the Zulu 2/Bose A20?
A shopper on Jul 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Depends on what you are looking for. The David Clark DC One-X uses the same electronics pkg as the David Clark DC Pro. I have around 8,500hrs of flight time and currently fly as captain on a Legacy 600. I came to the corporate side after 8yrs of flying at the regionals. Build quality and comfort are the top two things I look for. The noise canceling is excellent and the BQ/comfort is great. Youc an't go wrong.
Can it be ordered with a helicopter plug? Does anyone have any experience with the DC ones in a helicopter?
Bill J on Sep 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It can be ordered with a U-174 helicopter plug. I have used my standard GA dual-plug version in helicopters with an adapter and I had no problems.
what is the weight of the DC one-X ?
Bonnie on Oct 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The weight is 12.3 ounces.
If you're listening to music through Bluetooth, if you get a radio transmission, does it automatically mute the music?
JBenz on Mar 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It defaults to the music muting with a radio or intercom transmission but you can easily choose the setting where the music DOES NOT mute for any transmission. Great headset! I would highly recommend it.
How much does it weigh?
A shopper on Jul 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 12.3 ounces, without the cord.
Does this set have passive protection as well as active. In other words if the headset has no power will your hearing be protected?
John B on Aug 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I sometimes forget to power up the unit but I still get passive reduction similar to my old DC H-10 headset.
Does it over the whole ear like Bose?
A shopper on Jul 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is a full coverage headset that goes around the ear.
Without cellphone interface can you talk on your cellphone via blue tooth?
Ken C on Nov 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That is what I use the bluetooth for. And the co pilot or passenger can't hear my conversation while I'm on bluetooth. I have to get off of the call to get back on the intercom.
Can this headset pair to multiple devices simultaneously such as an iPad and a phone? Thank you!
Mark S on Nov 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It can not.
Is it available in Airbus/5-pin XLR plug? I know converters are widely available, but using a direct XLR plug will enable it to use aircraft power instead of batteries. Or maybe a 6-pin/LEMO with LEMO-to-XLR is an alternative? Will the converter transfer the power?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This headset is available with a LEMO connection. Our product number 7182A.
Good morning,
Can this headset use for Cessna 172?
Yanster on Oct 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it has the twin plugs.
I have tried a few headsets purchased the H10-13.4 due to it's ability to fit over my big head and ears. Are the ear cups the same size? Are they interchangeable with the 13.4?
A shopper on Jun 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These ear cups are different but still made to fit entire ear inside. Headband is highly adjustable, should fit anyone. I too went from H10-13.4 to these. I like these very much. I built a RV10 with that big IO-540 up front and decided I had to go for the active noise reduction. 13.4’s are now for the backseaters.
if you have 2 headsets, does each headset pair individually with a seperate cell phone?
A shopper on May 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, each headset would pair to a separate cell phone or tablet.
If you buy this headset with GA plugs, are there adapters or wiring kits to make this headset work with LEMO or XLR plugs for Airbus or modern Boeings?
Marcus N on Feb 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, We have adapters that convert from GA to LEMO and from GA to XLR
I am searching for a headset under a lb. such as 11 oz or so?
Patty B on Mar 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Most of the DC headsets are around a pound. I do not have a specific weight for this headset.
Is this the same as the dc one x enc?
David C on Dec 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the enc stands for Electronic Noise Cancelling. It may also be referred to as Active Noise Reduction.
