The longest flight was about 3 hours and I found them very comfortable. I personally like the ANR on these better than the A20s. I will say the ANR is slightly more effective on the A20s. But the David Clarks had a better balance letting in the noises that I wanted to hear. I definitely believe it to be very hard to judge between the top 3 headsets. I currently have Bose A20 and recently tried the Bose ProFlight. Only have a few flights so far in a Meridian and a couple in the Bonanza but I have to say I like this headset. More comfortable than I expected and the audio quality is good. I like the volume buttons for left and right.
So how do they compare to the A20's? Both with ANR, the sound is different with the ONE-X, I think you will hear a little more outside the headset noise, but so far, I would say the audio quality of the One-X seems clearer or maybe cleaner, but can be pretty subjective. They are comfortable and don't have the weight you would typically expect with DC. Tighter around the ear vs the A20's. That might bother some people, not me. I haven't had one of those 3 hour trips so I can't speak to the longer flight comfort. So far, I like them and will probably pack both the A20's and One-X to do more comparison. DC is a great brand and they have made a good step with One-X.
If your curious about my Bose ProFlight experience in a Meridian, I tried them for a couple of months and while the comfort is fantastic, I think they area really a jet headset. The lack of any volume control drives you crazy and the audio quality in a turboprop is lacking in my opinion.March 21, 2019Purchased

Connects to my phone every time no drop calls, comfortable and quiet. The only issue I have is storing it. My old David Clark's I can wrap the cord around and will fit nicely into my flight bag. The One X doesn't wrap around you have to stuff it into your bag. I guess that's true for all the noise cancelling headsets. The memory foam feels great but if you don't have it folded in properly it will deform for the next time you use it., especially in cold weather. My problem is not noise but fuzzy audio.Will this work with the David Clark K10 helmet?BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately it will not fit directly into the helmet. That being said it is only the headset earcup shape that prevents this from happening. If you are handy I don't believe it would be very difficult to add enough material such that the One-X would fit into the helmet.
I have a One-X that I love, and I keep a H10-13X in my K10 helmet for flights I need the helmet.Would you recommend this over the Zulu 2/Bose A20?BEST ANSWER: Depends on what you are looking for. The David Clark DC One-X uses the same electronics pkg as the David Clark DC Pro. I have around 8,500hrs of flight time and currently fly as captain on a Legacy 600. I came to the corporate side after 8yrs of flying at the regionals. Build quality and comfort are the top two things I look for. The noise canceling is excellent and the BQ/comfort is great. Youc an't go wrong.Can it be ordered with a helicopter plug? Does anyone have any experience with the DC ones in a helicopter?BEST ANSWER: It can be ordered with a U-174 helicopter plug. I have used my standard GA dual-plug version in helicopters with an adapter and I had no problems.what is the weight of the DC one-X ?BEST ANSWER: The weight is 12.3 ounces.If you're listening to music through Bluetooth, if you get a radio transmission, does it automatically mute the music?BEST ANSWER: It defaults to the music muting with a radio or intercom transmission but you can easily choose the setting where the music DOES NOT mute for any transmission. Can this headset use for Cessna 172?BEST ANSWER: Yes, it has the twin plugs.I have tried a few headsets purchased the H10-13.4 due to it's ability to fit over my big head and ears. Are the ear cups the same size? Are they interchangeable with the 13.4?BEST ANSWER: These ear cups are different but still made to fit entire ear inside. Headband is highly adjustable, should fit anyone. I too went from H10-13.4 to these. I like these very much.
