2 months agoWould You Recommend?YesPhenomenalI’ve only had this headset for a couple weeks but it has far exceeded my expectation. Noise cancelling is phenomenal. Headset is light and comfortable. Mic boom stays where it’s put and is very adjustable. Battery pack is not too large, easy to find a place for it. Overall amazing headset. Can’t need David Clark qualityJuly 25, 2018Purchased

1. The ear cups fall off easily and are very difficult to put back on. DC customer service recommended buying the replacement Gel Cups but didn't give me any assurance that they are more durable.
There was a rectangle shaped piece inside the earcups that I always put back when it fell out until I lost them both. I can't hear any difference with that piece missing.
2. In the G1000 C182 there was intermittently a very loud squealing in the intercom system that everyone in the aircraft could hear and that prevented any communications. After cancelling a flight because I couldn't find the cause of the squealing I found out it was the headset. DC customer service was sure it wasn't the headset and wasn't interested in the issue.
I have since found that it can be stopped by: unplugging the DC One X microphone, using a different headset, or turning down the G1100 intercom volume.
When I was able to compare this headset to a Bose on the same flight, I found that it was a least equal in comfort, noise cancelling, and sound quality.July 22, 2018Durability3 / 5Reliability1 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value3 / 5Would You Recommend?YesGreat, but...Let me preface this by the fact that my experience may not be standard. I really like the headset, it's light with great noise cancelling and excellent audio clarity. The reason for three stars are issues with the ANR and reliability. The headset was purchased in 2016, and three months later the ANR started going out. Sent it back to DC who did warranty work on it and sent it back. July, 2018 the headset again went out. This time the ANR again began failing and was creating a horrible feedback between the ANR and headset audio system. So had to send it back to DC again for warranty repair where it now sits. Overall, DC customer service has been fantastic; however, if I am spending close to $900 on a piece of equipment I don't want to have to be continually sending it back to the manufacturer for weeks at a time for repairs. Hopefully the ANR system is fixed or it's just an issue with my unit.July 15, 2018Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesStill made in USA, still D-C durableI've used Bose X, A20, Zulu's 1 2 and 3, the D-C PRO-X and now the ONE-X. I like the ONE-X a lot and place it on par with the A20 and Zulu.3 in terms of noise cancelling, sound quality, and features. For me, it's near impossible to split the top-tier headsets on any factor other than price and your personal comfort, but so far the ONE-X stands out to me for the following reasons: Small size when folded up and stored in it's carry bag. 2 AA batteries last a long time even with BT streaming in constant use, noticeably longer than the Zulu.2. Made in USA as far as I know. The only negative I have on the headset is the button-press sequence to do some of the advanced functions is not intuitive, although D-C does include a Quick-Reference guide which fits in the carry bag and gets right to the point on how to change the settings you want. Example: You can turn the flashing LED lights completely off on this unit in case you find them annoying, but to do it the first few times, you will need the quick ref guide. Beyond that, everything is straightforward on this headset and it's controls. Once your phone or tablet has been paired to the headset, they will stay friends through On/Off cycles and battery changes. I'm happy with my purchase.July 2, 2018Purchased

3 months agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesBetter than BoseI have about 900 hours on these. I tested them side by side with Bose. The noise cancellation is the same, however, if the batteries die in the Bose, I found it hard to hear anything. With that being said, the passive noise cancellation from the snug fit of the David Clarks makes hearing yourself and coms very manageable. There have been a few times I've forgotten to turn the noise cancellation on.
Not quite sure about complaints from people on fatigued heads and necks. I've never had that issue even with cheap headsets. I can only surmise those people's heads and necks are made of cheap parts from cadavers.May 25, 2018Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesLove it!The ANR works great. 7 months agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesComparing to Bose XI've used Bose X for years and decided I wanted to try newer technology. I tried Lightspeed wireless Tango and hated them. They were comfortable but taking them out of plane after every flight to charge was a hassle. Unpredictable battery outage was frustrating. I flew to Sporty's on a mission to find the best headset to replace the Tango. I highly recommend the trip. I was able to try every model. I wanted Clarity Aloft but got the experience what not having ANR is like so that saved me a bad purchase. I then tried all other ANR models and settled on the DC ONE-X. My wife and I immediately went on a 2 hr flight and swapped headphones with each other throughout the flight, she starting out with our old Bose X. What we both realized is that the DC was lighter and more comfortable but did not sound any better than the Bose X. We considered them equal. So if you want new, buy the DC. If you don't mind used, the Bose X can be found on ebay.December 30, 2017

My problem is not noise but fuzzy audio. Will this work with the David Clark K10 helmet?BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately it will not fit directly into the helmet. That being said it is only the headset earcup shape that prevents this from happening. If you are handy I don't believe it would be very difficult to add enough material such that the One-X would fit into the helmet.
I have a One-X that I love, and I keep a H10-13X in my K10 helmet for flights I need the helmet.Would you recommend this over the Zulu 2/Bose A20?BEST ANSWER: Depends on what you are looking for. The David Clark DC One-X uses the same electronics pkg as the David Clark DC Pro. I have around 8,500hrs of flight time and currently fly as captain on a Legacy 600. I came to the corporate side after 8yrs of flying at the regionals. Build quality and comfort are the top two things I look for. The noise canceling is excellent and the BQ/comfort is great. Are they interchangeable with the 13.4?BEST ANSWER: These ear cups are different but still made to fit entire ear inside. Headband is highly adjustable, should fit anyone. I too went from H10-13.4 to these. I like these very much. I built a RV10 with that big IO-540 up front and decided I had to go for the active noise reduction. 13.4’s are now for the backseaters.if you have 2 headsets, does each headset pair individually with a seperate cell phone?BEST ANSWER: Yes, each headset would pair to a separate cell phone or tablet. If you buy this headset with GA plugs, are there adapters or wiring kits to make this headset work with LEMO or XLR plugs for Airbus or modern Boeings?BEST ANSWER: Yes, We have adapters that convert from GA to LEMO and from GA to XLRI am searching for a headset under a lb. such as 11 oz or so?BEST ANSWER: Most of the DC headsets are around a pound.
